Plums - Sept. 28, 2012

We have a plum tree.
The tree has beautiful dark green leaves and beautiful purple plums that hang on the branches in August!  Come September those plums become ripe, and since we don't eat that much of them they begin to fall all over the ground.  When my children run around or ride their bikes they squish those plums and track them everywhere!  Grandma C. knows all about this with her Cherry tree.

The other day i told the girls i would pay them to pick up plums of the ground, 5 cents per plum.  Tes picked up 26 plums.  Dalia picked up 90 plums.  Rock picked up plums as well.  Rock enjoys carrying around a bucket picking blackberries or plums to put in it.  After the plums were all counted the girls hauled them back to our yard waste pile at the back of our yard.  It was a fun game and it helped to keep the plum smooshing down.

Kids - Sept. 27, 2012

Just a few things happening in September:
-Dalia loves First grade!  I loved her outfit she choose to wear and asked to take her picture!  She then pulled out this awesome pose!
-Rock really really likes to point at Airplanes that he sees in the sky.
-Rock was so tired that he fell asleep while eating lunch.
-The girls dressed Rockwell up as "Cinderella"!  Rock was so excited and was saying, "Cheese" so that i would take his picture!
-Rock likes to feed himself.  He insisted on having a fork.  I don't like it so much because he gets so so messy.
-Brian got a "GoPro" for his birthday!  Rockwell likes to play with it and say "Cheese" as he pretends to take your picture.

The Zoo - Sept. 22, 2012

In September we went to the Woodland Park Zoo!!!
We first took a stroll through the Rose Garden's next to the zoo!  The girls enjoyed seeing all the pretty flowers.  We like to go to the Zoo, but we are the type that spend an entire Saturday at the Zoo and call it good for a year.  The kids had fun seeing different animals, running around playing on the animal stautes, and playing on the Zoo playgrounds!!  and we even met up with Isaac, Bella, and their mom Jamie for a couple of hours!
Dalia's favorite animal at the Zoo was the birds!  the Parakeet birds, you know the ones people normally have as pets!  She liked feeding them.  She didn't like when one of them pooped on her, but she still liked the birds.
Tes really wanted to see the Giraffe's.
Brian liked watching the Orangutangs.
Britni enjoyed watching her 3 little monkeys explore the zoo.
Rockwell really liked playing at the indoor and outdoor playgrounds!  Especially the outdoor one where he liked running through the tunnels growling!  He even started chasing a little boy around growling at the boy.  I thought it was really cute that Rock and this boy were playing together until i realized that the little boy was crying and trying to get away from the growling Rock.  opps!

It was a fun day at the Zoo.  Next year we might try out the Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma.

Backyard Blackberries - Sept. 17, 2012

The month of September we have had beautiful weather!  So much so that our lawn is still yellow.  Summer Extended!

Today we enjoyed playing in our backyard!  Tes got "Super Bee" at preschool! because she had 'Super BEEhavior!!"  She was the first one to get super bee this school year!  go tes!  One of Tesi's favorite things to do is eat lunch outside on the deck in the sun!!  So of course that is the first thing that super bee got to do with her.
After we picked up Dalia from school we played in the backyard!  We played on the swing set, rode in our little truck and picked and ate blackberries!  Rockwell smeared blackberries all over his face!

Today while playing outside Dalia learned how to tie her shoes!!
Back inside during homework time Dalia was teaching Tes how to read sight words!  Dalia is the best big sister, she is always teaching things to Tes.  Tes is going to be so so ready for kindergarten.

This night for FHE Brian made us some yummy blackberry shakes!  They are Rockwell's favorite!

Brian's Birthday Party!! - Sept. 16, 2012

Brian's Birthday Party!
The birthday boy with his cake and presents!
For dinner we had Cafe Rio-esk Salad!!  While we wore our Jimmy Neutron 3D classes so we could look at our cool napkins and see the world in rainbow (as the girls said).
 Brian's Race Car cake!!
Complete with a BMW race car that kinda of looks like Brian's race car and Race track inspired by the Ridge Motorsports Raceway in Shelton (where Brian was on his birthday).  Okay, so just a few corners of the track, since the track is really so much bigger.

Side note:  Did you know that i am (used to be) the worlds worst rice crispy treat maker.  Well i totally was, I know, who can mess up the simplest treat of rice crispy's?  It was me.  When i made them before they always turned out rock hard, it was awful.  So when Brian requested rice crispy treats for his birthday this year and not the traditional cheesecake i was concerned.  But a little Google searching and i am now the best at making rice crispy treats!!  They were so so so so soft!!!!  and they tasted great!  And i had fun making them into a track, complete with a fondant road!  It was the fastest birthday cake i had ever made.  SUCCESS!!!
 The party goers!!
Yes, Rock is in the picture, he is peeking out behind Tes.
We had a Jimmy Neutron/Car Race theme!
Thank you to Jenna for the fabulous Jimmy Neutron supplies!!!  (do you remember giving those to me back at college when i loved Jimmy Neutron!?  I found them in my college box as i was cleaning out the garage!!  I thought of you during the party!)
Brian & the kids opening presents!
He got some awful magnets that really didn't work (sorry that was my fault, I did buy them in the kid section), a sleeping bag that will fit a 6'5" Brian and it rolls up really small!, and we got him a GoPro camera!!!  That he can use to video on his race car or when he goes mountain biking!
 H. family tradition, lighting your own candles.  However, we let him use the lighter.
Dalia loves to turn off all the lights in the house when it is time to light the candles!
All 34 candles lit, oh wait, i think i spot a candle that is not lit.  I guess Brian is still 33.

Happy Happy Birthday to Brian!  We had fun celebrating him!
After the party Brian taught Tes how to make a paper airplane.  Tes folded her airplane all by herself.  It was her homework for preschool.  The next day at preschool each kid was supposed to bring a paper airplane to school.  Tesi's plane won the "Highest Flying" Airplane!

Happy Birthday to Brian! - Sept. 15, 2012

Brian had a Birthday shout Hooray!!

Brian was gone for his birthday this year.  He was at a Chumpcar race at the Ridge Motorsports in Shelton, WA.  We missed him.  But he had so much fun!  He said this was his favorite race and not just because it was his birthday.  He said it was a lot of fun driving, their car didn't break down, and they got 5th place out of 63 cars!!!!

For the past 4 years Brian has swam in a natural body of water on his birthday.  I was sure he was going to break tradition and not find time to swim since he was at this race.  But that was not the case.  Just before midnight as Brian was leaving the race he found a lake called 'Island Lake' and took a quick dip before starting his drive home.  Tradition continued!

Two Arms! - Sept. 14, 2012

Waiting to talk to the doctor about her re-X-rays!
X-rays were looking great!  New bone is growing and her bones are straightening out!  Doctor said No More Sling!!
Hooray!!  Dalia has Two Arms again!!!
She is excited to be able to use her left arm again!  It is a little stiff, that is why she couldn't raise it very high in the picture.  I am sure glad to have my big girl pretty much back to normal.  Now she can do things for herself again and help me other with her brother!  The doctor said to still take it a easy, no soccer, football, wrestling or monkey bars.  That should be easy since she doesn't do any of those anyways.

Dalia's Colors Week - Sept. 2012

Dalia's first 7 days of First Grade they were learning about colors.  If they wanted to they could dress in the color for the day.  Dalia is a fan of dressing in all of the same color so this was perfect for Dalia.  She enjoyed wearing each color all week.  And when she would come home i would ask her who was wearing the most of that color that day and every time she would say, "Me!"  We love color at our house!!  and Dalia loves First Grade.  Except she said it is long and sometimes sitting there gets boring.

Sept. 14, 2012

Tes holding a birthday present for Brian.  We sent him off today for a car race in Shelton.  We sent him with this gift and party hats to use to celebrate his birthday tomorrow with his friends (since we won't be with him for his birthday).
Inside the first are Rice Crispy Treats to share with his friends!
Check out Brian's birthday gift from Boeing!!  A RC Helicopter.  It also came with a rocket launcher to shoot at the helicopter.  Brian and the girls enjoy it, but Rockwell Loves it!!
 Tes enjoys wrapping presents!
Tonight we played in the backyard and made cookies!
Rock really likes to help out with whatever I am doing.  He isn't much help, but he likes to think he is helping.
We had a slumber party in my bed!  Tes, Dalia, Mom, & the cabbage patch babies!

Mukilteo Beach - Sept. 13, 2012

Mukilteo Beach!
While Dalia was at school I took Tes & Rock to the beach!  I realized I hadn't taken Rock to the beach all summer.  I figured he would enjoy throwing rocks and I really wanted him to see trains come by on the tracks!  When the train came by he just stared at the train, kinda of in amazement!  It was fun for me!  It was a beautiful day that warmed up after the cool morning air blew off.  We played at the beach, watched trains, ate lunch, played at the playground, and watched the ferry and sailboats, before we headed home to put Rock down for a nap and then to pick Dalia up from school.  It was a fun day!  I am so lucky to be a their mom.  And lucky to live so close to the beach!

Middle of September - Sept. 12, 2012

Rock had fun feeding himself yogurt.  Mom did not have fun cleaning it up.
Rock loves his dad!  He might even like dad more than mom now.  But don't let his mom know that, she still thinks she is the favorite.
Mom tried to stay the favorite by playing stack the empty diaper boxes up and knock them down over and over.  (that is a game Dad would play).
Tesi's new favorite thing is to comb hair!  She says she wants to be a hair-do girl when she grows big.
Rock trying out costumes.  "Thor" or...
"Optimus Prime"
He sure had fun running around in them.
Tesila painted a garden stone for me!
Can you guess the theme?....It is a Rapunzel theme.  Rapunzel and her long yellow hair at the bottom.  The city and floating lights at the top!
We made it to see the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival Firework show!!  My most favorite firework show!  We had missed it the last two years, for good reasons, but i was so sad to have missed it two years in a row.  I was glad to be back!
a

Brian gave the girls father's blessings before school and when they were done Rock sat up on the chair and put his hands on his head.  So so cute!!  So he got a father's blessing too!!  Thank you Brian!
Tes set up a Tea Party for Mom and her and Rock joined us!
My Tesila girl LOVES to eat her lunch outside on the deck!
Don't you just love her head wrap today?!
Tesila on the way to Preschool with her new preschool bag!
I came into the kitchen and found Rock with an oven mit on his hand and the hot oven WIDE open!  ahhhhhhh......  I have said this before, Rock wants to do whatever you are doing.  Someday he will be so helpful.
I went to a "T" Party at church for our monthly Relief Society meeting!  It was fun to sit and chat and eat yummy finger foods!  Okay, i had fun dressing up too!

Tesila goes to Preschool - Sept. 10, 2012

Tesila started Preschool!
Tes was excited for Preschool to begin!

I was excited for her to go!
Preschool isn't hard for me.  Probably because it is only for two hours a day twice a week and Tes is just at one of my friends houses with all of my friends kids.  I know where she is and I know the people she is with and I trust those mamas.  It is so so nice!  Go Carousel Kids Preschool!!!   Tes is very excited to have Preschool at her house when I teach in February.

When we got to Preschool all the kids lined up to get a picture taken and guess what?  Tes is the tallest!  Yes, she is a tall 4 year old!   However, i don't have that picture.  Maybe someday i will get it.

It was fun to hear Tesila talk about everything that happened at Preschool today.  They learned about the Letter A, aka-"A" Monster that says, "Ahhhh" and Christopher Columbus.  So they made little boats and raced them in a kiddie pool.  Tesila loved her boat and the A monster craft she made.

-What did you do?
First I colored my name after I put my name on the board and next I sat on the carpet.  I got a new bag.  It’s a red bag.

And we played upstairs very quietly because the baby was sleeping and we got craisins when we were good.  I was good so I got a lot of craisins.  And so I really liked it all of it.

I like preschool…
I gotted to find the A Monster after Miss Kristi.

-What was your favorite thing?
“A” Monster, we said “Ahhhh….” when we first saw him.  The teacher said he might be shy.

-Tell me about the boat you made.
I made a boat.  I sailed it in the pool to America from a land.  We had boat races and I winded.
At home she was so excited to play with her boat!  But it was a little cold to play in the kiddie pool so she played in the sink!  She had fun playing with her polly pockets and her boat!
Snow White swimming to the boat!
Thanks Miss Kristi!
