August 2013 - Second Half

Chump Car Race!!!

Brian has always wanted us to come to his races.  But I always wonder how I will watch my 3 kids in the pits at a race track so we have only gone to 30 mins at the end of one race, on our way to california.  Since my mom and Lane were in town and the race was only 2 hours south in Shelton, WA they wanted to go.  Even though i felt sick I went along too with my three kids!  (Mom and Lane would have taken my kids without me).  I just made sure to drive, and keep snacking on cereal and subway's sweet onion chicken sandwich.  We got there in the afternoon and pulled into park.  We saw Brian's teams car pull in to the pits.  By the time we parked and began to walk over to his pit we saw Brian's car head out of the pits.  We got to the pit and saw Steve, Chase, and Kevin.  They said that Brian had just gotten in the race car and wouldn't be back for 2 hours.  We had just missed him.  We visited at the pits for awhile then went and found Eric and woke him up, he was sleeping in his tent.  Eric took us to a good place to watch the race.  We ate snacks and watched as Brian came around and waved to him every time.  First Rock got really excited to see the car, then realized Brian wasn't stopping and began to cry as the car passed.  It was fun to see Brian driving and racing with a black car.  We never knew who was going to be in front when they came around again, brian or the black car.  After Brian's turn was over Mitch hoped in for the last two hours of the race that day.  While Mitch was racing we took Brian and Eric out to dinner at Denny's.  All i felt like i could eat was French Toast, so that is where we went.  We got back and the race was over.  However, the race car wasn't back.  The car ran out of gas just after crossing the finish line and had to be towed in.  But they finished the race!  I think they were like 20th place out of about 40 cars.

It has been so nice to have my mom and Lane here!  I have felt so sick, thankfully not as sick as when I was pregnant with Rockwell, but still sick.  Every morning my mom takes care of my kids and gets them breakfast while i sleep.  She plays with them in the day.  Sometimes I lay in bed all day, other times I come downstairs and sit around inside or outside.
Grandma set up Bird House painting in the backyard!  Rock enjoyed washing his brush in the cup of water.  Dalia was very careful when painting and painted her bird house to look like our house!  Tes painted pretty colors all over her house!
Grandpa & Grandma took our family to see the movie, "Planes!"  Because grandma knew Rockwell would love it!  Which he does.  He wore his Dusty (the Orange plane in the movie) shirt to the movie!  And he goes around saying, "Tusty!"  it is hard to get hid Dusty shirt off of him.

Meet your Teacher Night at the Elementary school!  Tesila met her Kindergarten teacher Mr. K. and Dalia met her 2nd Grade teacher Mrs. R.  Dalia has Mr. K for Kindergarten and she had a lot of fun showing Tesila around the kindergarten classroom and telling her what everything was.  They also planned a spot to meet at during recess.
Grandma made fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade with the girls!!  Grandma also made a cake on Tesila's half birthday!  So of course we put in candles and sang!  Tes now tells everyone how she is 5 1/2, not just 5.  Rockwell has recently began liking to be read too.  Grandpa brought a new book about a little blue truck that the kids like to listen too!

We went to Mukilte beach for dinner and sunset!  We took Red Rock Subs, so good!  I even felt like eating one, wow!!  Mom & Lane worked really hard one day to surprise Brian.  While Brian was at work they removed everything left on the dirt, where the deck was, and buried all the concrete (that Brian had broken up from the old little concrete patio that was in front of the sliding glass door).  And they smoothed and leveled the dirt!  They worked really hard, i was very impressed!
The kids played took care of their babies!  And Rock loves to play in the sandbox.  He seems to enjoy making his trucks dig in the sand.

This last part of August there has been a lot of playing inside and outside at our house!  Summer is great!  And we are so blessed to have Gma Carolyn & Gpa Lane at our house so spend the last few days of summer with us!!

I know that Tesila missed Grandma Carolyn the most while she was gone in the Philippines on her mission.  Tes would talk about Grandma all the time and about all the things she was going to do when Grandma came to her house when she was 5 years old!  And if finally happened!!!  Sweet Tesila Rose!

P.S. Mom, do you have a picture of you holding 3 year old Tes in the "special grandma/tes hold with her feeties up in the back??

August 2013 - First Half

August 2013
The month of August was our at home month of the summer!
It was nice to just spend time at home and play in our backyard!  Which we did a lot!!

Brian (with a little playing from the girls) took out the trees and the bushes around our old deck!
The kids played in the kiddie pool countless times!!  They love to have the little red slide to slide into the pool!
Brian made a HUGE bonfire one night to burn a lot of our bushes!  We sat up on the pirate ship and watched from a safe distance.
We eat popsicles or ice cream cones a few times a day!!  Rock gets really messy when he eats ice cream cones!!
We sent out a family picture to our immediate family announcing our family will be growing!  Baby #4 to arrive in March 2014!

Brian & I attended "Bri's Badminton Banana Split Birthday Bash!!!"  Brian made Bri a Badminton Podium for the winners bracket!  Yes, Bri is that serious about Badminton.  We played on teams, my partner was Micah and we won first place!!!
Rockwell loves anything related to transportation devices!  In the tub he loves to play boats!  I love that his little mouth is puckered up a lot to make motor noises!!
The girls set up their tent outside and wanted to have a camp out!!  So Brian set up his little tent next to theirs and the 3 of them slept in the backyard!!
We went to Legion park for dinner and to play with some other families from church.

Dalia (wearing her new kitty beanie!) and her Volcano Dahlia flower!  She bought the bulb at the Tulip Festival.
Boeing Family Day!!!  Our friend Wells was in town from Canada and he came with us!
Cascade Park for the ward camp out.  However, we only stayed for the evening and then went home to sleep.
Tes LOVES to play in the pool with her Mermaid Barbie!!  Rock's new favorite toy is Finn McMissile from Cars 2!
We had a dinner at the Mc's!  Mini-Warthog Boy Reunion!
Eric's family, Mat's family, Brian's familiy, & Wells (he was in Seattle for a business trip, we missed his family).

Since the deck is now gone the kids enjoy playing in the dirt!  As of late they like to make Dirt Cakes!  And put Stick Candles and sing happy birthday!  They are having so much fun with the dirt.  I am going to be so glad when it is covered up!
Lake Tye with Alycia & her boys; Preston, Carter, & Owen; & Bri & her kids; Olivia, Hudson, & Rig!  The kids had fun digging in the sand while us mama's enjoyed talking!
Gpa & Gma Ho came to our house!!!!!!!
Grandma Carolyn's birthday was on the 17th, but she wasn't here to celebrate with us so we celebrated when they arrived!
Brian made Carolyn her favorite Blackberry Crisp dessert!!  (She loves anything blackberry!)
Tes got Grandma Roses!  She wanted to get Grandma Yellow Roses, because Grandma's favorite color is yellow and she loves "Tesila Rose"  (However, the store only had mixed bunches of roses!  Tesila is so thoughtful.

Tom & Shaluan's family came along with G&G!  They stayed with us for one night and a day!
Their kids match up perfectly with our kids in age and gender!
Dalia & Emmy - 7 years;  Tesila & Audrey - 5 years;  Rockwell & Slater - 2 years!

Tesila made a list of "Things to do with Grandma".  Half of the things on the list she has been talking about since Grandma left on her mission in June 2011.  I know that Tesila missed Grandma the most while she was gone.  To say Tesila was excited to have Grandma coming to her house is an understatement.  Tesila was SO SO SO EXCITED!!!!
I should have kept Tesi's list, but some things on it were...
-Paint Bird houses
-Eat Sparkly Graham Crackers and Princess Yogurt
-Paint our nails
-Color
-Pillow Prize
-Have Grandma Hold me with feet up behind me (the grandma Tesi hold)
-Watch a movie
-Read stories
-Braid my hair
-Make homemade lemonade
-Make homemade ice cream sandwiches!

Gma & Gpa went to China in June 2013 and I asked them to bring back my kids some Chinese clothes.  My girls love China!  They were excited to get their China outfits!!  That night G&G too the 3 kids out to a Chinese restaurant called "The Lucky Dragon!"  and they taught them some chinese words!  They girls thought it was so cool.  "Ding Ding How" means good and "Mama Whowho" means not good.

The girls also put on a fashion show for G&G and Brian of their new school clothes!  and of course Rock had to join in!
