Steps to Jesus - Dec. 31, 2010

Dalia's "Stepping Stones to Jesus"
As i was making Taquitos today Dalia was making stepping stones to Jesus.  She kept asking me how to spell things to put on her stones.  She told me they did this in her Sunbeam class at church.  She even drew a picture of Jesus and set him up at the end!  The stepping stones said things that you need to do to get to Jesus.  Her stepping stones said: "I Love My Family" - "Love My Baby Sister" - "Get Married in the Temple" - "Be Nice" - "Wait" - "Christmas" - "Love My Mommy and Play Toys with Her"
Dalia is the sweetest girl i know!!  I love you Dalia!  You make my heart SO happy!!  I am so proud of you!! P.S.  i love your drawing of Jesus!

New Years - Dec. 31, 2010

Happy New Years!!
New Years Eve Day was a little eventful.  In the morning we were getting ready for the day.  We didn't have much planned.  We were just going to go grocery shopping so we could make some yummy food for our stay in New Years party with the four of us.  Right before we were about to leave the house Brian accidentally head butted me in the chin which made me bite my lip.  Which made my lip bleed and bleed and bleed.  My lip was split opened.  It looked pretty bad to me so we went to the walk in clinic.  After about an hour we got taken back to the doctor and he said it was already going back together and i was fine.  I felt pretty silly, but glad that my lip was okay.
We went grocery shopping and then home to make some yummy taquitos found here...Taquitos.  Back at home we got a call from Brianne inviting us to a New Years Eve party down south in Kent at the O.'s!  I was a little reluctant since i didn't feel like driving there and back.  In the end we went.  Why not?  We really aren't that far away.  It was fun!  The kids of course had so much fun with their little friends, Olivia & Isaac (Bella & Hudson were sleeping).  We brought taquitos to share and Bri made home made waffle cones!!  Yum!!  We played the Dance game on Mat's new Kinect for Xbox!  Fun!  Dalia loved it most of all!  Then we rang in the new year with Martinelli's, some poppers, and watched the fireworks on the TV go off at New Years at the Needle (the Space Needle!)

Fashion Show - Dec. 27, 2010

For Christmas Dalia & Tes got a Dress Shopping Spree from G&G Ha.  So after Christmas Dalia, Tes, and I hit up the Mall to find some dresses!  We went to JCPenny and found that they have a PreSchool clothes area!!  Awesome!  There were so many dresses to choose from.  The girls had fun running around the racks and trying on their dresses.  Their faces would light up as they saw themselves in the mirror in their beautiful dresses!  They each were able to get 2 dresses!  Back at home that night we put on a fashion show for our dad to show off their new dresses!!  I also showed off my growing baby belly!  19 weeks!!
As you know Dalia LOVES to draw!  I checked out a kid book on tape and Dalia had fun drawing and listening to her book of nursery rhymes all afternoon.  And here is Brian's Race Car!!  Well he is a 6th part owner of the race car!  He was lucky enough to get to drive it home to show me!  wow!  i was so impressed!  you can even see the road through the hole in the ground.  I'm glad that he likes it and is so excited to race it someday!

Christmas Day!! - Dec. 25, 2010

Merry Christmas!!
We spent the entire day in our PJ's at home!  Wonderful!!
We took our time opening all our presents (thank you to our wonderful family & friends! we are so spoiled!).
We played with our new toys.  Made a yummy dinner and enjoyed being together!
We are so thankful that we get to celebrate the life of our Savior!  Happy Birthday to Jesus!
The girls loved coming downstairs on Christmas day!  Dalia was so excited to find a Minnie Mouse in her stocking!!  Tes was excited to find a Thomas the train in her stocking!!  Britni found a HUGE present!  I have never received such a HUGE present!  Brian got new snow gloves!!  and a head lamp!

Tes got the Fylnn Rider barbie & Dalia got the Rapunzel barbie from G&G Ho.  Just what they had asked for!!  The first present opened was actually Flynn Rider.  As soon as Tes opened it she asked me which present was Dalia's Rapunzel.  Tes was SO certain that the Rapunzel barbie was under the tree somewhere.  The girls also got Pillow Pets from their Papa.  They of course love them!!  Dalia has been wanting one of these for over 1/2 a year now.  Dalia got me some beautiful purple and pink earings!  wow!  We got the girls some pretty dresses, jewelry, & head dress beads from the middle east.  Auntie Jami is the best of course and got something for our baby brother!  A T-Shirt and a toy!

The girls helped me open my HUGE present!  I figured it was the BLACK dresser that i have been wanting for my room.  I tour off a piece of wrapping paper on the top and noticed it was BROWN.  i was sad, i had gotten the WRONG dresser.  Just a few seconds later the wrapping paper was torn off the sides to revel the floor.  It wasn't a dresser, but a hallow wooden box!  There was a certificate inside that said, Good for one trip to IKEA for my black dresser with a blank check!!  Hooray!!  I didn't get the wrong dresser after all.  Brian you are the best!!  And so creative with your gift giving/wrapping!

Christmas Eve! - Dec. 24, 2010

Christmas Eve at our house!!  We had our annual Shepherd's Dinner!  We ate finger foods and dressed as shepherds!  Except Dalia dressed as an Angel.  We acted out the part where the angel comes to tell the Shepherds that Jesus has been born.  Then dad read the Christmas story from the Bible while we acted out the story with our little people manger set!  We opened our X-presents!!  Dalia & Tes got new jammies!!  Surprise surprise!  Then we made cookies!!  We set some cookies & milk out for Santa and then we snuggled up in our beds for some rest before all the excitement tomorrow!

Merry December - Dec. 2010

Happy Christmas Eve!!
We have been having fun this December! We are enjoying being home from our month long trip in November (more about that later). We have enjoyed decorating for Christmas, baking, parties, and visitors!
We found the perfect tree! Brian cut it down after this picture!
We took it home and decorated it!

Dalia loves to "wish" on the tree!

Tesila enjoys helping mama cook or bake! Here she was making cookies!
This day we made cupcakes for our church Christmas party! Dalia had been asking me for weeks to decorate cupcakes. She did a great job decorating!

Tesila got her Christmas pillowcase in the mail from Grandma Carolyn! She loves the "kitty's!" She also got a candy cane! Tes loves candy canes and can eat an entire cane in a few minutes! Thank you Grandma C!
We made our annual graham crackers houses!!! Can you guess who made each one?!
The girls put on a great Nativity Story with their cousins!
Scott as Joseph, Dalia as Mary, Luke as the Wise Man, Matthew as a Sheppard, Tesila as the Angel, and Maggie as a Sheppard!

Have a Merry Christmas tomorrow! We will be in our warm red house in our pajamas all day playing with our presents, eating candy, and a yummy dinner. We miss you family!

Cousins - Dec. 22, 2010

Hooray!!  Our cousins from Alaska came to visit us for two days!!  We hadn't seen them since Dalia was about 6 months old!  So they finally got to meet Tesila and we got to meet their two youngest boys Charlie & Wyatt!!  This is Brian's older brother Arlen's family!  Arlen, Katie, Quinten, Mia, Jacob, Charlie, & Wyatt!  They were on their way to Portland to spend Christmas with Katie's family.  We are so glad they came to visit us!!
We took a day trip to Whidby Island!, visited beautiful Deception Pass, and rode on the ferry.  We played at home, watched movies, colored, and enjoyed being together even for a short time.

We are having a Baby!! - Dec. 20, 2010

it's a BOY! - Nativity - Dec. 20, 2010

Ultrasound!!  it's a BOY!!
The ultrasound went great!  Brian, Dalia, & Tes came with me to see our baby in black and white!  The baby looks great and has all the right parts and things babies are supposed to have.  Except this baby had one extra part that we had never seen on our ultrasounds before!  A boy part!!  We are all so excited!!  Especially Dalia!  She has been saying for the last 2 months that was going to have a baby brother.  I tried to explain to her that it could be a girl.  She would tell me, "No, we are going to have a boy baby first and then a girl baby.  I don't have a brother."  And she was right!!  We asked her what she wanted to name him and she said, "Stronger!"  and Tes said, "Prince Eric."  Tes actually kept calling the baby a princess.  The doctor looked at Tes and said, no it's a prince.  So that's when she decided that her brother could be "Prince Eric."

Tonight we went to Lincoln & Carrie's for dinner & the Nativity story acted out by our children!  I brought a banana cream pie for dessert and colored the whipped topping BLUE since we are having a baby boy!  Tesila loved watching the train drive around the bottom of their tree.  She likes trains!!  The kids had fun acting out the nativity.  Especially Dalia!  She has been asking to be Mary for the last 2 or 3 months.
Scott as Joseph, Dalia as Mary, Luke as the WiseMan, Matthew as the Sheppard, Tesila as the Angel, & Maggie as a Sheppard.

Graham Cracker Houses - Dec. 19, 2010

It wouldn't be the Christmas Season if we didn't make our annual Graham Cracker houses!  And it wouldn't be the same if we didn't make them with the K. family!!  And believe it or not the last time we saw them was last December when we made our cracker houses!  That is sad, because they only live about 20 mins. away.  We miss them and our glad that we can still be friends even though we don't see each other that much.  It was great to get together and create our candy houses!!  This year Dalia drew her house on paper first (i should have taken a picture) and then i hot glued her crackers to look like her house she drew and then she decorated it perfectly and with so much care.  I love the patterns she has going on.  Do you see that tower?!  That is "Rapunzel's" tower and that is her long yellow hair coming out of the tower.  And Yes, Brian built it!

P.S. Tomorrow is our 20 week ultrasound!!  We get to see our baby and find out if it is a girl or a boy!!

Cupcakes - Dec. 10, 2010

Dalia had been asking to make cupcakes for awhile.  For the ward Christmas party they asked people to bring cupcakes.  So today we made cupcakes!  and i don't think Dalia could be more excited!!  Tes helped me mix up the batter and when the cupcakes cooled the three of us decorated them.  Dalia did a great job decorating them and put the frosting and candy on top with care!  Tesila also really likes puzzles!  She will sit and concentrate on them.  She can made the board puzzles all by herself, but the other kind she needs help.  I like the picture of Tesila drawing, she is concentrating so hard with her little tongue sticking out.  Grandpa Creek would be so proud.  And lastly, Dalia built this cool tower!

Christmas Tree-Cookies - Dec. 8, 2010

We went hunting for our Christmas Tree at a local Christmas Tree farm near Granite Falls!  Tesila wanted a little tree the size of her.  But we opted for this bigger fluffy one!  Brian cut it down and Dalia helped him carry it to the car.  When we got home Brian hung the lights on the house while i put the lights on the tree, with Tesila's help.  Then we got out the ornaments and we all decorated the tree.

The next day Dalia kept "wishing" on the tree! like you would a star!  It's so cute!  Tesila and i made cookies!!  while Dalia sat at the table and drew yummy cookies in her sketch book!

Back Home - Nov. 28, 2010

Nov. 27th we drove back to Washington!  We had dry roads and were making good time until we hit Idaho about 1 hour east of Boise.  But with Brian's mad Alaska driving experience (and because he is a good driver) we pushed on making great time.  We made a quick stop in Ontario, Oregon at a Walmart where Brian bought a PS3 (PlayStation 3).  He was very excited!  And excited to be able to buy it tax free.  Then we were on the snowy roads again.  The Blue mountain pass was covered in snow and all the drivers going very slow.  I'm glad that we made it over them in the day light.  Brian did great driving over the pass, passing all the other cars.  We stopped at our regular McDonald's in Oregon to eat and let the girls run around for awhile.  Then it was back in the car for the next 6 hours until home.  The girls watched a movie on the ipad and then fell asleep.  I slept as much as i could and then just felt awful and endured the rest of the trip until we got home!  It was so nice to be home!!  and out of our car!!  Thank you for driving Brian! and getting us home safe.

This week, Dalia has enjoyed drawing!!  She loves to just sit and draw with her markers!  She also tends to get markers all over her hands and arms.  Tesila misses Grandma Carolyn a lot!  She cries for her.  This morning Tes was crying for Grandma Carolyn with these big tears!  So i had her call and talk to Grandma.  Tesila also likes to "cut" hair, with her toy pliers!  Here she is cutting Daddy's hair (or pulling his little hairs and pinching his skin).

Lastly, big news!!  Tesila sleeps in a toddler bed!!  No more crib!  While in Utah at Aunt Callie's Tesila slept fine in a bed at night and for naps.  When we returned home Brian took the front off her crib which makes her crib a toddler bed!  She was still fine sleeping in her crib.  She didn't climb out.  I told her long ago when she wanted to get out she just needed to call for mama!  So that is what she does, wakes up and says, "MaMaaa,  MaMaaaa."  It was more work for me to go get her out of her crib and make my way back to bed.  So we put her into a bed and she loves it!!  She is even still taking naps.  I just go sing her a song at nap time and she sleeps for about 2 hours!

H. Thanksgiving-Anniversary - Nov. 26, 2010

We spent the real day of Thanksgiving in Logan, Utah at Uncle Tyler's house!!  It was fun to see Tyler's new house!  It is very nice!  I love the cabinets in the kitchen!  Mark & Dixie arrived the night before thanksgiving a few hours after we did.  They were on their drive back to Alaska from Duchesne, where they were helping clean out and fix up Grandma Dona's house.  It was nice to be all together.

The morning of Thanksgiving Dixie made all sorts of Yummy food to eat!  and Tyler made some delicious pies!!  I wasn't much help at all, i just sat around, i felt so lazy, but i also didn't feel very well.  At least i was able to eat!  And yes Dalia was there for dinner too!  She had just woken up from a nap and was still a little groggy and was laying down for the picture.

The next morning we waved goodbye to G&G Ha. as they started their drive back to Alaska!

November 26th, 2010 - Brian & Britni's 6th Anniversary!!
We started off the day by sending Brian, Dalia, Tes, & Uncle Tyler out to play in the snow.  It was a beautiful sunny day in Logan and about 15 degrees F.  Tesila didn't stay out too long.  Dalia loved being out in the snow!  She enjoyed sledding in Tyler's laundry basket down the hill in his front yard.

Tyler was unsure of watching our kids so we could go out on a date (he said he hadn't changed a diaper in 3 years and he didn't want to start today.  Tesila is still in diapers).  So we went on a family date and invited Tyler along!  We tried to see a matinee of "Tangled" the new Rapunzel movie, but it was sold out until 6pm.  The girls were so sad.  We bought tickets for the 6pm show and then began to head back to the car.  Dalia cried the entire way back to the car, "i want Rapunzel!"  I tried to explain to her that we were coming back, but it took awhile for her to really realize that.  We went and played in the walmart toy department and bought Tyler some Christmas lights, which Tyler and Brian hung that night.  Then we introduced Tyler to Cafe Rio where Brian was able to get a fountain drink of Vanilla Coke (his favorite!).  Then we headed back to the movie theater to sit in line to wait to get seating!  The movie was great!  Dalia was on the edge of her seat the entire time.  The only emotion on her face was concern.  I wasn't sure if she liked it.  But as soon as it ended she said, "I love that movie!"  and of course wanted to watch it again.  I'm starting to see a pattern with her and movies that she sees for the first time.  She seems so scared and concerned, because she isn't sure what is going to happen.  Then at the end she can finally relax because there was a happy ending and she loves it!!

The next morning we got up early and left for home.  I'm glad that we got to spend time with Tyler.  Thank you for letting us come and visit!

A. Fam. Thanksgiving - Nov. 23, 2010

 Thanksgiving 2010 at Dad's house!
We celebrated Thanksgiving the Tuesday before Thanksgiving with my family at my Dad's house.  My dad and i cooked our first turkey!  I think we did a great job!  We set up the table in the living room with ALL the fine china (Rose plates) in my dad's house.  Even the glass rose cups!  Dad wanted to use his big old blue plastic cups.  Us girls vetoed him and told him it was Thanksgiving and we were going to have a fancy meal with the glass cups!  It snowed the morning a few inches so Brian, Dalia, & Tes played out in the snow and built a snowman while I was in the kitchen with dad cooking!  It was also fun to have Ava around for the girls to play with!  The three of them sat at the "kids" table!

Since everyone was all here we took a family picture!
Taken on the front steps of my Dad's house.

USA - Brunch - Nov. 22, 2010

Nov. 21, 2010 - Brian & I are back in the USA!!  I couldn't be more happier!  and to make things even better we arrived in Utah at the SLC airport to the two cutest girls holding a sign that they made with the help of their aunt Callie that said, "Welcome home Mommy & Daddy!!"  I was in love!  i was so very excited to see my little girls!!  I can't thank Callie & Rayson enough for taking care of them!  Thank you!!!  Callie is truly amazing!!

Monday morning Nov. 22nd we had brunch at Grandma & Grandpa C.'s home, along with Grandma Carolyn, Grandpa Lane, Callie, & Raylie!  I was glad to be able to visit with my Grandparents and be in their home!  I love it there!  It was fun to see Grandpa's puppet theater completed!  I am sad that we missed the puppets shows in October.

Utah - Nov. 5, 2010

The beginning of the week i felt Terrible!  No surprise there.  On Nov. 1st, Brian headed off to work like usual.  A friend took Dalia to preschool.  I had a doctors check-up for my growing baby insde of me which Tesila came along.  As i was waiting in the waiting room i got a call from Brian.  He was had ran out of gas on the freeway.  Some lady helped him get gas and drove away.  He filled his car with gas but then the battery wouldn't start.  He needed to be jumped.  Without a cell phone he walked to the nearest store that i would know where it was, "Just for Kids" my favorite second hand clothing store.  However, i was waiting to see my doctor so i told him he would have to wait.  It took awhile to see my doctor today.  Everything went fairly well with my appointment, except for the fact that i am loosing weight, because i can't eat anything because of my upset stomach!  So i need to work on that.  Then Tes and i went to rescue Brian.  We helped him jump his car and then went to Jamba Juice.  By then half the day was gone.  So Brian came home!  He went and got me lunch at Subway and i was able to eat.  A miracle!  I couldn't eat the entire sandwich but at least i ate some.
The next two days were spent packing for our trip to the middle east and Utah.  We found our kid leash that Tes had fun trying out!  She liked being Dalia's puppy!  Dalia made a "Graffalo"  cookie at preschool.  They learned about the letter G.  Dalia said it had marshmallow spikes!  Scary.
Our ride to Utah was Terrible!  Well Terrible for me!  The ride was actually uneventful.  Brian drove the entire way.  We left early Thursday morning and arrived at Callie & Rayson's house late Thursday evening.  I was sick the entire way which made me even more nervous for our over seas travels in just 2 days!  The girls seemed to have fun in the car.  They just slept, ate, or played.  When it got dark we put on a movie for them.  For dinner we stopped to get gas in Idaho.  i didn't feel like eating, but i took the girls into the convenience store and they each picked out a candy.  Yes, they had chocolate and Doritos for dinner.

The next day we spent playing at Callie's house.  We had a picnic in her backyard and Dalia & Brian took turns racing each other across the lawn as different animals.  The best was when Dalia was a "bird man" and Brian was a "worm".  Dalia totally won, but Brian tried his hardest to get across the lawn as a worm.  That night we had dinner at Cafe Rio and i was actually able to eat something.  We got some snacks at the store and then back to Callie's place to start packing.  Jami was there as well to pack for our early morning flight the next day.

Halloween - Oct. 31, 2010

Halloween 2010
Brian: the Groom - Dalia: the "Wedding Girl" (Bride) - Tesila: Cinderella (Bridesmaid) - Britni: Mother of the Bride (Dalia's mom!)
Halloween!  We love to dress up!  This year me and the girls went to our halloween playgroup party!  We ate yummy halloween lunch, hot dog mummies, and halloween desserts!  We ran around with our friends and showed off our costumes to the moms!  Each kid got to walk across the stage at church to show off their costume.  Dalia walked across the stage slowly, pausing in the middle to spin around and bowed.  Then slowly walked off to the other side, smiling from ear to ear the entire time!!  Tesila walk straight across the stage with her head turned to the side to look at the moms,  she didn't walk too fast, but not slow and she didn't stop for a bow.  They were both so cute!

A few days later we had a Ward Halloween carnival and Trunk or Treat!  We all dressed up as a family and went to the carnival.  We played games and then collected candy at the trunk or treat.  On the actual Halloween i was terribly ill.  I layed on the couch the entire day.  Evening came and neighbor kids started to come around trick or treating.  So i began to get the girls all dressed up in their costumes.  Then Brian set off with the little wedding girl and cinderella down the street for Trick-or-Treating.  As i layed on the couch awaiting their return i made my way to the door every so often to pass out candy to the few trick-or-treaters that come to our neighbor hood.  My last trick-or-treaters were my favorite of all.  Little Dalia and Tes!!  I opened the door and let them in.  Tes had fun eating as much candy as she could.  As soon as she had one piece of candy in her mouth she was grabbing another candy and getting ready to open it to eat it!  Dalia enjoyed sorting her candy into piles of the kinds that matched!  Happy Halloween!  It was a good holiday even though i felt so awful.  I'm glad my girls were still able to enjoy it!

Pumpkin Carving - Oct. 30, 2010

Emily & Eric invited us over to carve pumpkins!!  I was so very sick that day, but i wanted to get out of the house.  Brian drove us to their house and i walked right in and layed on the couch pretty much the entire time.  Emily, Eric, & Brian carved pumpkins and Dalia & Tes painted pumpkins.  It was the first year in awhile that i hadn't carved a pumpkin.  Notice Brian's "cute" carved pumpkin!  Cute heart nose and cute smile!  So sweet!  (He usually carves scary pumpkins, it must have been because i couldn't carve a cute one so Brian carved it for me!  At least i like to think that.)
We then sad our see you laters to Eric.  We are leaving in a few days for Utah and our month long trip to the middle east and Utah and won't be back until after Thanksgiving.  Eric will be leaving to work in Wales after Thanksgiving so we won't be seeing him for awhile.  We think he will be back sometime in the spring of 2011.  We will miss you eric!

This year my mom & Lane had a pumpkin carving contest.  We sent in pictures of the 3 pumpkins from our house.  They each got prizes and money.  Of course the first time i can't carve a pumpkin because i can't even sit up from my horrible pregnancy sickness is the year that i would have got a prize.  Needless to say i'm a little sad.  But i'm trying to be glad that i was sick.  It was horrible!  i threw up on the car ride home and wondered why i even went.

Dalia's.drawings.Tes.yogurt - Oct. 25, 2010

Dalia is becoming a great artist!  She draws some great pictures.  She also has a great imagination. Here she drew this picture and called it her "Animal Rescue Computer."  The top part is a picture of a desert and a sandstorm.  There is a camel who she said has eyelashes to keep the sand out of its eyes.  She also drew a pyramid and water pools for the camel to drink because the camel drink lots of water and eats thorny plants (she learned it all from a Dora the Explorer movie).  I love how she found this toy turtle to be her "mouse" for her computer!
Another day she drew what she called "Jasmine's City!" and requested that i take a picture to post online.  She also tried on her halloween costume and dressed up her kitty Abigail in a party dress and crown as Abigail's halloween costume!  good mama!
Last is a picture of Tes with yogurt at breakfast.  Lately the girls like to stir their yogurt and say they are making a cake.  Then they take turns singing happy birthday to each other and me and we pretend blow out the candles and then they stir their yogurt again and sing again.  I got Tes singing on video below.

Cake & Computer - Oct. 25, 2010

Dalia came to Young Women's with me the other night! We were decorating cakes! Dalia was so excited to decorate "wedding cakes!" That what she kept calling them. Dalia frosted most of the white layer frosting on herself. Then i helped her pipe on her name. She insisted that her cake say, "Dalia is getting married!" So i helped her pipe that on too and a flower! she was so proud of her heart shaped wedding cake!
Dalia made herself a computer!
She drew this great picture and calls it her "animal safari computer." And her computer is complete with a turtle mouse! She drew a desert, with a sand storm, a pyramid, a sun, a camel, water pools for the camel to drink.

The back of the computer!
