Tes Birthday Celebration - Feb. 27, 2011

Tesila's first Birthday Celebration this Year!!  Grandma & Grandpa Ha. were heading back to Alaska Sunday night, so we had a Birthday Party for Tes Sunday afternnon while they were still here.
Tesila is now 3 years old!  Wow!  Grandma made her a Puzzle with her name Tesila Rose!!  with the picture of a Rose behind it!!  Grandma says she is also working on another puzzle for Tes that she will bring to her in March.  We stuck 3 candles in a Cupcake that Tes requested be frosted in "Green" frosting!  We sat at the table and sang "Happy Birthday" to Tesila!  (I'm pretty sure that Brian didn't sing happy birthday, i'm sure he sang something  like "Happy It's Not Your Birthday this Year".  Since she is a Leap Baby).  Well we sang and they she began to try to blow out her candles.  She blew a few times and they didn't go out.  Brian said, "Blow on the Top."  So Tes stood on her chair leaned over the cupcake, looked down at the candles and BLEW!"  She blew on the top!  Yes she got the candles to go out, but right before she blew her beautiful long hair was now right over the candles and it CAUGHT ON FIRE!!!  It was only on fire for a split second because Brian reached over and squished it out with his hand.  (Which i have a Video of).  The candles were now out and we could smell burnt hair!  Look closely at one of the pictures and you can see her hair melted into the candle.  Sweet Tes, i am just glad it wasn't worse than that.  Note to self, pull back little girls hair before blowing out candles!!

Couch Looking.Dance.Slim - Feb. 26, 2011

I have been really wanting a new couch so Brian said he would get me a new couch for my birthday!!  So today we went couch shopping and Mark & Dixie came with us!  We braved the snow and drove down to Lynnwood and went to about 3-4 furniture stores.  At the last store when i had almost given up we decided to look in one more section of the store.  And there i found the couch i had been looking for!!  It had to be comfortable enough for me to lay down on (So i layed down on every couch i saw!) and the cushions needed to stay ON!  (the girls have so much fun taking the cushions off, but lately it has been driving me crazy!!!)  So far the one that i like the best is at Scan Design.  It was the last one we looked at and then we headed home.  I wanted to just look at couches today and "think" about them so that i get a couch i really love.  Because the couch we got for the TV room i don't really love, we bought it on a whim and i regret it.  Yes, it looks nice in that room, but it is SO uncomfortable!!  Especially with my pregnant body!  I can lots of springs in the cushions as i sit on the couch in the TV room. 
After couch looking we went to Olivie Garden!  Dixie's favorite!  and since there isn't one in Alaska she likes to go when she comes here!  Dalia & Tes loved the bread sticks and Tes liked that she could have "Salad!"
With Grandpa the girls enjoyed dancing while he played the guitar and sang.  Dalia enjoyed playing the keyboard with Grandpa too!  (I have videos of them dancing while Mark sings and while Mark & Dalia are playing on the keyboard).  Tes was a great bread stick maker at home!  She was so serious about!  She does a good job!  We also made "Slim" so that we can use it at Preschool next week for our sense of "Touch".  My theme that I am teaching for the month of February is the Five Senses!

Britni birthday! - Feb. 24, 2011

My birthday!!!
Today i turned 28 years old!!  & my Pregnancy became 28 weeks gestation!!  Pretty Cool!!
We woke up to a little more snow & ice on the ground.  But it was a beautiful sunny day!!  Our bushes were icy and our snowman was leaning over.  I had a doctors appointment that morning.  I weighed 147 lbs. Dalia weighed 40 lbs. and Tes weighed 36 lbs.  Baby's heart rate was 150 bpm.

Shortly after we arrived home from my appointment Mark & Dixie pulled in the driveway.  They were coming to visit for the weekend and Mark has a doctor's appointment in Seattle earlier today.  I got a few phone calls today with well wishes for my birthday.  For dinner we headed to Red Robin where we met up with Brian!!  Also, "RED" was there!!  I have never ever seen Red there.  I was excited to see him and even more so since it was my birthday!!  I also got a free Ice Cream sunday and the Red Robin workers sang to me!  I wanted to go to Red Robin because i was craving a Salad and one of their Milkshakes!  Mark & Dixie took us to dinner there.  We then headed home for the German Chocolate Cake that Brian & the girls made me!!  Happy Birthday to me!!  Thanks for making me feel special!

28 years & 28 weeks! - Feb. 24, 2011

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Today i turned 28! and today also marked my 28th week of Pregnancy with my nameless baby boy!

Snow Day Preschool - Feb. 23, 2011

Snow Day = No Preschool

No other kids came to our house for preschool today.  We just had two students today, Dalia & Tesila!  Dalia especially missed all her friends and at first didn't want to have preschool without them.  We missed them, but we still had fun!
 

We started off the day by watching Dad clear the snow off his car, which means he throws snowballs at us as we watch out of the living room window.  Today Dalia and Tes were ducking when he would throw a snowball, they didn't want to get hit.  Then the girls traced their names!  Tesila is very good at tracing her name.  This was only her 6th day of preschool and she is already a champion tracer!  Dalia traces her name excellent, first and last, and she can even write them by herself without tracing.

After tracing we said the Pledge of Allegiance, which i think is so cute to hear the kids say.  Dalia says it, Tes does not.  We then reviewed our Letter Characters!  Dalia knew every letter and almost every sound.  Tesila knew a lot more than i thought she knew.  We then practiced our counting and played the Car Counting Game!  Which both the girls loved!!  After counting we learned about our sense of Hearing!  We talked about our ears and how we hear with sound waves and vibrations!  Then we joined the "Kitchen Band" and played all sorts of fun kitchen utensil instruments!  After that we made our own instrument, paper plate shakers!  The girls made sure we sang our Goodbye song!  It was a fun day at Preschool even if we only had two students!

 

After lunch Dalia taught me and Tes how to play "Don't Eat the Prophet!"  We normally play don't eat Pete, but in primary on Sunday they played don't eat the prophet.  So Dalia wanted to teach us!  I love hearing and seeing all the things she is learning.  She is growing up and is excited to go to school next year.  I register her for Kindergarten in 2 weeks and i'm excited, but sad.  I don't want to loose her.  I love my Dalia & Tes!!  They make my Heart SO Happy!!

Happy February 22, 2011 - It Snowed!

We woke up to everything covered in SNOW!!

Snowball fight!!  

Dalia started it.  The girls love to throw snowballs at their dad!  And Brian just likes to throw snowballs!  Brian stayed home long enough to play in the snow and then he was off to work, excited to drive in the white stuff.  The girls and i went on a snow walk around the block.  We are now home, ate our lunch, and the girls are bundled up in a blanket watching Peter Pan while the snow is still coming down in big flakes outside. 

P.S.  if anyone knows why most of my pictures can't be double clicked to look at bigger and how i can fix it so that they can, please let me know what to do!

Snow Day! - Feb. 22, 2011

Snow Day in February!!  Brian left for work and came home about 2 minutes later.  He said the main road was backed up so he might as well come home and play in the snow for a bit while the traffic clears out.  We were so glad that he came home.  We love playing with Brian in the snow!!  He of course helped us make a Huge snowman!!  This snow was Heavy!!  It was difficult to lift the body and head onto the snowman.  The girls then enjoyed having a snowball fight with their daddy!!  They were giggling the entire time.  The liked to throw it at him and run and hide behind the snowman and the car.  (I have video of them during their snowball fight).  Thanks Brian for being so awesome!  and loving to Play!!

Knex.Car.Cushions.Name - Feb. 21, 2011

Brian made an awesome car out of Knex that both the girls can sit in and can ride around in the house!!  Brian and I can fit in it as well as we walk around the house.  The girls love love love love love!!!  to take off ALL the couch cushions and stack them up to make slides, mountains, and forts!!  (I have a video somewhere of the girls playing on them and a video of them acting out a scene from Pocahontas).  Tesila at Preschool tracing her name and then writing it herself.  She is getting so much better!  And i love how hard she is concentrating!  Way to go Tesila!!!!

Valentines Day! - Feb. 14, 2011

We had a great Valentines Party at our house after Preschool today!!  The kids ran around like crazy and the moms tried to feed their kids, make time to eat for themselves and try to visit with the other moms.  Then we had the kids line up their Valentine boxes and exchange Valentines!  Dalia & Tes enjoyed looking through their Valentines after everyone was gone.  I enjoy the holidays and making fun meals that correspond with each holiday.  For our Valentines dinner we had Chicken Pot Pie (Dalia's favorite!!!)  with Hearts on the top!  I even made 4 individual "Heart" shaped mini pies!  Heart red jello, Heart shaped bread.  We also made Heart shaped sugar cookies the day before and decorated them for our friends to eat at the Valentine party!  Happy Valentines!!  We sure love our little family of four and are excited to make it Five in a few more months!!  Check our my cute red round belly!  Love it!

Valentines.Bubbles.Curtl - Feb. 13, 2011

Dalia & Tes making Valentines!  More like writing their names on the Valentines.  Tes is getting better at writing her name, T-E-S!  Dalia and Tes took turns giving each other "baths!" in their dress-up box with the "bubbles" (the dress ups!).  Brian and Britni when to a Murder Mystery Dinner at Lincoln & Carrie's!!  Brian was "Thumbless Jack" and Britni was "Treasure Hunter Reynolds".  It was a lot of fun!  We always enjoy dressing up.  Linc & Carrie threw a great party!
Tesila's Curl!  This is my favorite curl on Tesila's hair.  It is in the very back and bounces ever so cutely!

Life at our House - Week of Feb. 9, 2011

Some things going on at our house in February 2011.
Dalia enjoys making sandwiches!  She is very creative with her sandwich feelings.  Here she made a Peanut Butter & Marshmallow sandwich, Yum!  We like to play the board game "Life!"  Tes is always my cooking helper and of course loves to lick the beater!  The girls enjoy singing songs with the felt board song book the we have this month for Preschool.  They like taking turns being the teacher and leading the songs.  We also made our Valentine boxes for the upcoming Preschool Valentine party!!

Carousel Kids Preschool!
Dalia's Preschool is a Co-op Preschool that we participate in with 9 of our friends!  Each mom takes a turn and teaches preschool at their home for one month: Monday and Wednesday from 10am-12noon.  And this month is my turn to teach!  We are excited to have Dalia's friends come to our house to learn!!  Tesila will also join preschool for this month!  Here we are showing off what we have set up for preschool: The Welcome/Come inside sign, Floor time, Table time, and Name recognition.  Happy learning!
