Babies at 3 months! - Aug. 2011

Today! - Aug. 24th, 2011 - MY half Birthday!!

Yes today is my HALF birthday!  so of course we have been having a great day!

 We first went to the dentist for Dalia's check-up and Tesila's First time to the dentist!

 She did great!  Except i did hear her scream once while i was sitting in the waiting room.  The hygienist said it was because Tes didn't like the bubble gum flavored toothpaste that she chose.  Next time Tes says she will choose a different flavor, not bubble gum.  And NO cavities for either of them!

 Back at home we had a picnic and played in the pool in our backyard!!

And right now, Rocky is napping.  I can hear the girls playing "church" in the living room.  They are taking turns giving "talks" into the microphone looking thing that sticks out of our fireplace.  Dalia was talking about visiting teaching and following God.

Backyard.Dalia - Aug. 20, 2011

Dalia has so much enjoyed spending time in our backyard!  It is one of my most favorite things about our house!  I love our backyard and our Swing-set! (best investment!)  Dalia is a thinker!  Today she figured out that she can hook one of her daddy's tie down straps to her swing and then to the baby swing or the glider.   Then when she swings in her swing it also swings the baby swing or the glider.  Therefore, she can swing herself and someone else at the same time.  She also, LOVES to pick berries!  and mostly eat them!  

Rock is all smiles!  He has little giggle coos sometimes.  I'm just waiting for that full out laugh!!  Rock is also, very interested in looking at toys!  I sat him up the other day to look at the toys.  But he can't sit up by himself.  In the picture he was only sitting up for about 2 seconds.  He fell over as soon as the picture was taken.  Oh, Rock also likes to grab onto things, like fabric!  He likes to grab his blankets and burp cloths.

Silver Lake - Aug. 18, 2011

My friend Alycia talked me into going to the Beach with her today.  I have been afraid of going to the beach or anywhere really, with just me and my kids.  I worry that Rock will cry the entire time, it will be too sunny for my new baby (no shade), the girls will run away from me and not listen and i won't be able to chase them.  However, my little trips last week to the mall/park and the spray park built up my confidence for the beach!  So we went!  It started out being a cloudy day and turned out sunny and hot.  We first ate our lunch then the girls played in the sand and waded in the water while i nursed Rock.  Rock feel asleep and i was able to put him down in his stroller where he STAYED asleep!  Great accomplishment, because normally he wakes up and cries.  That is when i get all flustered and need to leave.  

The girls loved playing with Preston & Carter in and out of the water!  Those four are such good friend i love it!!  And it was great to sit and talk with Alycia!  Thanks for making us go to the beach Alycia!  We had a great time!  And i am learning that I CAN do this three kid thing!

P.S.  Linc & Carrie family!  I especially missed you as i was in the Silver Lake area today.

Spray.Park - Aug. 16, 2011

Today i felt particular brave and decided to take my kids to the spray park.  I woke up and it was sunny and warm and i felt like it was something i could do.  And so we did.  We packed a lunch and off we went.  We ate our lunch and then i took my new best friend (my camp chair) and found a spot to sit next to the spray ground.  I nursed Rock and kept him shaded from the sun while i watched Dalia and Tes run around splashing in the water and enjoyed seeing their smiling faces!
Check out Dalia's Awesome "tent" that she made for her and Tes.  Since i was holding sleeping Rock i couldn't help her.  She tied our blanket to the fence and then hooked it to the chair and they had Shade!  That's my little thinker!
Also, Rock has noticed his Toes!  He sad for quite awhile on my bed kicking his legs and concentrating on looking at his toes!

Boeing.Day - ug. 14, 2011

Boeing Family Day!

This is the One day that happens every other year in August when Boeing Employees get to bring their families and friends to work.  So it is the day we get to see Brian's desk at work and walk around the factory and see where they build airplanes.  There are also activities and free things to get and do.  Since NO cameras & picture taking are aloud inside Boeing we took a picture in the parking lot with the HUGE airplane building behind us.

After we toured Boeing we came back to our house for Cafe Rio Salads and Blackberry Crisp!  Yum!!  The kids had fun playing together!  I'm so glad our kids like each other!  The older "Boys" had fun playing Playstation games and us older "Girls" had fun talking!  I so much enjoy getting together with these people!  which i am glad that we all live relatively close so that we can do so!

The O's were here late into the evening.  So we let the 4 kids with their dirty feet watch a movie on the ipad before they left for home.

Other pictures!  We have had moss growing on our sidewalks so Brian borrowed our neighbors pressure washer to get rid of it.  However, he quickly noticed that he then needed to pressure wash ALL of our sidewalks, not just the ones with moss on them because there was a HUGE color difference!  Do you like my checkered sidewalk?!

The.Park.BLACKBERRIES - Aug. 12, 2011

Today we were going to go to the beach with Bri and her kids, but we woke up to fog everywhere and a dreary cold morning.  So we canceled and went to the mall play-place instead.  I even packed a lunch to eat at the mall.  While playing at the mall the sun came out.  So we packed into the car and drove to the park to eat our lunch and play of course.  We ate our lunch, then i nursed Rock as i sat in the comfort of my camp chair that i just happened to find in the back of my car, while the girls played at the park!  It was a perfect day!  My camp chair has become my new best friend, well at least for outings!

Also, BLACKBERRIES are ripe!!!  The girls have had fun picky and eating berries!  I give them buckets to go pick the berries.  Usually they come back with empty buckets or buckets with just a few berries, because the girls eat most of them.  However, while i was cooking dinner there was a bucket left at the back door with a nice sign that said "Dalia Mom."  Then Tes made me a sign too.  The girls picked me some berries and wrote me notes!  I had blackberries for a present!  What sweet girls i have!

Toys.School.Shopping - Aug. 9, 2011

Rocky loves to LOOK at his toys!!  This week he started to GRAB at them!  He is learning how to play!!  Rock also likes to stand up and lock his legs!  He loves to see what is going on and what his sisters are doing.  Tesila likes to make funny faces at Rock and Rock of course loves to look and smile at her! 

Mom & Dalia went shopping for her Kindergarten supplies & new school clothes!!
It took us 3 trips but we finally got everything.  The first trip was just Dalia & Mom.  We went to Target and got the 5 things that she needed for her Kindergarten class.  Earlier that week i told Dalia the 5 things she needed and she remembered them.  First she told me we needed a Backpack!  We went straight to the backpacks and Dalia picked up the first one she saw and she was done.  However, i was not.  She choose this big kid looking one just gray and pink.  I talked her into getting one that was more kiddish, she will only be young once!!  She likes her new blue frog backpack!  Then she listed off the next thing we needed to get, then the next, until we had our five things! 
Another night we went back to pick out some new outfits.  Dalia is an easy shopper.  She just choose things and she was done.  However, i again wanted to look around and then i made her try things on.  But this time we had Rock with us and he was not a happy shopper.  So we bought our things without looking at shoes and without going out for a milkshake.  So finally a third night Dalia and i went just her and mom to get some new shoes and a milkshake!  We are now ready for school!  Well at least physically.  Dalia is so excited.  I'm excited for her, but yes scared and nervous too. 

Girls.Swing.Quilt - Aug. 5, 2011

It happened.  Dalia & Tes dressed up Rock like a girl!  And they thought it was the funniest thing!  Rock didn't seem to care at all.  They loved making him have "Rapunzel" hair!!

Rockwell and his Shark quilt!  Made by me, his mama!  I made this for him while he was in my tummy!  I embroidered his name on after he was born, since we weren't 100% what his name would be until he was born.

Dalia now LOVES to swing!  She even seems older now that she can swing all by herself!  This morning she woke right up and wanted to go swing.  After breakfast me and the kids all went out to have a morning "swing!"

Lastly, the girls have not been going to sleep lately.  Yes, we tuck them in bed but they don't go to sleep.  The other night i found them snuggled together in Tesila's bed.  Their daddy had made them a "tent!"

I ATTEMPTED to really potty train Tes today.  I FAILED!

Look closely under the table.  Yes, Tes pooped on the deck.  Like i said Potty Training attempt - FAILED.  She did come in the house and tell me that she pooped on the deck, is that progress???

End of July 2011 - July 31, 2011

Rockwell is 2 months old!

We went to the annual carnival in our town.  We walked in the children's parade with our church.

All 5 of us rode on the Ferris Wheel.  Rock, Tes, Dalia, and even Brian's FIRST time!  The girls were SO excited!

Mom & Rock!

I just love that little face of his!  He is a little needy though.  He usually wants to be held.  I love to hold him.  But it makes it hard when i am trying to eat, help his sisters, shower, get dressed, clean anything, sleep, work on my blog, type on the computer, you get the idea.  Some days are spent cuddling and nursing all day long.  He is a great eater!  He wants to eat every 1 1/2 though.  He does spit up a lot.  That is part of the wanting to eat so much.  But he is gaining weigh!  He is already getting big.  Not so new bornie anymore.  This week his newest trick is blowing bubbles with his spit.  Awesome!  Rocky is enjoying his playtime more.  He likes to look at toys.  But he especially likes to look at people.  Namely, ME!  We talk and talk.  Well he coos and coos and SMILES!  I love it!  He coos and smiles for his daddy too!  And sometimes for his sisters!  He is a great sleeper, when he sleeps.  Which he normally goes to sleep fairly well, as long as he is in his swing, and it is swinging of course.  Lately at night he has been sleeping for 5 hours straight!  (well he has always wanted to do this, but i have been waking him up every 2-3 to nurse.  Since i got mastitis twice, yes twice.  I'm hoping i don't get it again.)  I love that Rock is in our family.  Even if i feel like i live in a circus at times and i don't get out much.

Backyard Cookout - July 30, 2011

Most of today was spent in our backyard!

Dalia and Tes packed a picnic for them with help from their dad.  They set up their tent with a picnic blanket and had a picnic lunch in the backyard.  Later that night for dinner Brian planned a cookout in our backyard fire pit!  He roasted us hot dogs to eat!  Tes has been asking for watermelon for awhile now she LOVES it, as does Brian!  Then afterward we roasted the HUGE marshmallows that we got!  Sooo good, but sooo messy.  Also, no surprise that Rock loves to swing on the baby swing on the swing-set.  As long as his swing was moving he was happy.  But as soon as the swing would stop he would cry.  So whenever we saw Rock's swing slowing down, one of us would run over and give it a little push to keep him moving and happy.  Dalia especially loved pushing her little brother!

AquaFest - July 29, 2011

Aqua Fest 2011

We went to our towns Fair!  They have this fair every year.  We never have been.  The kids from Primary were marching in the Children's Parade.  So we went!  It was fun!  Me and the 3 kids walked in the parade, while Brian watched.  He didn't sit in one spot for the parade, he followed the parade the entire time waving at his girls!  Dalia & Tes were timid and unsure as we were walking in the parade.  But they would get SO excited when they would see there day and Wave to him!  They have the best daddy!!  We then got some expensive fair food.  The girls loved getting cotton candy and ate it way too fast!  

There was a "Juggler" show there as well.  I was planning on seeing this since last week Dalia was pretending to juggle and telling me that she was a "Jiggler."  Dalia especially thought the juggler guy was pretty cool.

Our girls have never been on fair rides before so we decided to buy some tickets.  Wow, i was surprised at how expensive those were.  But we bought the tickets anyways.  The girls liked riding on the motorcycles that popped wheelies!  Tesila had a perma-grin the entire time!!  The ride that the girls wanted to ride the most was the "Ferris Wheel".  We were able to ride on the ferris wheel all 5 of us!  It was everyone's first time but mine.  It was a lot of fun seeing Dalia and Tes having so much fun.  However, the fair was not the best atmosphere.  I hadn't been around so much cigarette and "other" types of smoke in so long.  It was miserable to be around and smell the smoke throughout the evening.

Pool.Toys.Fort - July 26, 2011

Congrats to Aunt Emily!  She finished taking the BAR, her Law school exam!!!

This week the girls have LOVED playing in their kiddie pool!  Especially with their Barbies!  Ariel & Tarzan (the Ken doll).  They have so much fun making them swim and watching their hair move in the water.  Dalia even liked to pretend to "paddle" in the pool like Pocahontas!

We made a fort out of the girls blankets in their room!  Then they were able to watch a movie on the iPad in their fort!

At the end of the Movie "A Little Princess", Dalia said:

"I think I'm crying.  I like this show.  I think my tears are coming!"  As she is wiping her tears away.

Mom asked, "Did you cry at the movie?" 
Dalia said, "No.  I didn't cry I was brave." 

Then I explained to her that it is okay to cry, especially at the happy parts!

We Lost Tesila Today - July 18, 2011

Thankfully we also Found her!

Yes, Today we LOST Tesila.  For only 15 mins. or so, but still it was Scary!

We were down at the Waterfront Pier in Seattle.  Water on one side, busy street on the other side, lots and lots of people and stores in between.  We were there with some friends and we stopped to eat ice cream.  We sat down at some tables next to the Argosy tour loading dock.  The kids ate their ice cream and then were running around.  I kept getting up and making Tes come back to where we were sitting, because I thought she was going too far from me.  Brian left with Rock to go change his diaper.  Tesila came to me concerned that her daddy was gone.  I told her he would be back soon.  Brian came back soon enough and he was unsuccessful of finding a changing table so I put a blanket on the floor under one of the tables so Brian could set Rock down to change him there.  I then looked up to see where Tes was and I didn't see her.  So I walked around the area where we were.  I didn't see Tes.  I panicked a little and walked around the area again looking better this time.  Still I didn't see Tes.  I then really panicked and went over to Brian who was then changing Rock's diaper.  I began to cry and tell him that I couldn't see Tes anywhere.  Our friends immediately noticed that I was crying and that Tes was REALLY gone!  They all got up and began to walk in different directions to look for Tes.  Thank You!!  I needed them all at that very moment.  Brian was busy with Rock and I couldn't think straight.  Any direction I would walk in I would turn around and walk a different direction.  I began just walking in circles.  I didn't know which way to walk, because I didn't know which way she went and I didn't want to spend all my time on one way if she hadn't gone that way.  Makes sense, right!?  but I wasn't getting anywhere.  Brian had me walk down one of the piers.  As I was walking down the pier, I thought to myself, 'What if Tesila doesn't come home with us today??'  That is the saddest thought!  But it could have been reality.  As soon as I thought that I had a calm feeling come over me.  Weird to have such a calm feeling as I was thinking my baby might not come home with me.  But right after that I noticed Brian walking my way as he was talking on his cell phone.  He was on the phone with Bri.  She found Tes by the Carousel.  Relief!  She was okay!  Two ladies had seen Tes sitting on the ground all by herself so they went to talk to her.  They were their holding Tesila's hands as Bri walked down the pier and found Tes.      

As we met back by the tables where we had ate our ice cream I saw Tes.  She didn't seem concerned at all.  I held her close and asked her why she walked away.  She told me that she was looking for her daddy.  She said she saw the Crab Pot (where we ate last week), and she saw the Carousel (where she was twice last week, and which she LOVES!!).  She was so calm.  She acted like it was no big deal.  Later on she asked me if we could go to the city again!  I told her we are not going to the city for a long time.  Just the week before we had been down to the waterfront 2 times when Callie's family was here, so i think she felt comfortable where she was at.  

I am SO Thankful!  that Tesila is with our family today!  I couldn't imagine a life without Tes!  I love her smiley face, her blond flowing curly hair, those big blue eyes!  her sweet little voice!  and i love her silly side.  She is the "class clown!" of our family.  I love you Tesila Rose!

 We were so glad that the G. Family was here with us!!

 And we are lucky enough to have some of our best friends live so close to us that they were able to come too!

 Did you know that "Rocky Road" (his nickname that Aunt Callie calls him) LOVES his Auntie Callie!  Every time she held him he went right to sleep!  (We missed her as soon as we got home from dropping her off at the airport).

 Raylie loves her cousin Rock!  Almost as much as she loves her kitty Tink.  And she is just as soft with Rock as she is with Tink (which isn't very soft).  If she was around more she would sure toughen up Rock.
