Mukilteo Beach - Oct. 19, 2010

It was another beautiful day here in Washington!!  We made our way to Mukilteo Beach for a picnic and to play!!  I felt reasonably well.  I'm so thankful to my mom for always having yummy food ready for everyone to eat!!
We enjoyed a picnic and playing on the playground.  The girls of course loved walking up and down the beach, collecting rocks, finding a feather and trying to make a boat, and wading in the water.  We missed Brian as he was at work.
Back at home we took a group picture of us being pirates! before Jer's fam and my mom leave in the morning.  We are so glad that you all came!!  Next time i hope to not be sick.

Ava Sleeps Over - Oct. 17, 2010

I completely wore myself out on our day trip to Seattle.  The next day i felt so sick and rested on the couch the entire Sunday.  Ava's birthday is next week, so we had a birthday celebration Tea Party for Ava!!  Grandma Carolyn made cute little hot dogs and cute little cookies!  We sang to Ava and she blew out a candle!  The girls enjoyed their Tea Party and then Ava opened up her present from Dalia and Tes.  Dalia was so excited to give Ava the "Rapunzel" barbie!!  It was a little hard for Dalia to realize that it was for Ava and not her.  They all loved playing with the barbie!
We later watched "How to Train your Dragon" for the first time.  The girls were all scared at first and were hiding under their blankets.  But at the end Dalia sat up and said, "That was COOL!  I love that movie!"  and now she wants to watch it all the time.

Ava & Dalia had fun sleeping in Dalia's little tent in her room!!  Grandma Carolyn and Tes had fun sleeping on the floor in the girls room!  Such a fun sleepover for these four girls - Grandma, Ava, Dalia, & Tesila.

Ed's fam. in Seattle - Oct. 16, 2010

My brother's family and my mom came to visit us in Washington!!
I'm so glad they came!  He was my last family member who hadn't come to visit yet (minus Callie's husband Rayson and baby Raylie).  Despite my being sick i was so glad they came!
The first day they were here i actually felt pretty well.  We started off this morning with Donuts for breakfast.  Every Saturday Jer takes Ava out for donuts for "Daddy Daughter Donut Day!!"  So cute!!  Then all 8 of us fit in our Honda Pilot and headed off to Seattle for the day! (my mom stayed at home, went shopping, and made dinner!)  Ed has always liked the city of Seattle especially because Seattle is where Pearl Jam came from!  We had fun playing at Gas Works park and enjoying the Beautiful Sunny Weather!!  We ate lunch at Red Mill Burgers on Queen Anne.  Walked around Pike's Place Market!  Brian bought me a beautiful Dahlia bouquet!  Which Dalia and Ava enjoyed carrying.

We enjoyed the view from Kerry Park and playing on the sculpture and playground there.  We walked the Pier, visited Pirates Plunder, and rode the Carousel!  It was a great day in Seattle!!

October! - Oct. 16, 2010

October! All ready to take Dalia to Preschool!
Dalia dressed up as her Gigi!
My friend was having a photo shoot with her little boy as a fireman and wanted to have Dalia be an old lady who need her cat rescued. Dalia likes to get her picture taken and she had just received some great new dress up stuff that was her Gigi's! It worked how perfect! I think Dalia had lots of fun! And she looks so cute!! I think her Gigi would be proud!
Tes set up a Tea party for her and her Daddy! You can see sick Dalia laying on the couch! She had a high fever for about 5 days! Then it went away!
Brian completed Grand Turismo!! 100% Hooray!
Jerry's family came to visit Seattle!!
We are so excited to have them here for a few days!!

Oct. 9, 2010-GT.TeaParty-Gma.Dalia

Check out this blog post i found in my draft folder that i never published.  I don't know why i didn't, it was even all typed up and ready to go.  I know my mom and sisters will enjoy it.  Here ya go...

Hooray!!  Brian completed Grand Turismo 100%!!!  He has been waiting for this day for a long time!  Maybe we will get to spent more time with him now!  Well i've actually been feeling so sick that i haven't been able or wanted to spent time with anyone.  So it is probably good that Brian had something else to do.  However, my friend Michelle D. was celebrating her birthday with a girls night out and i really needed to get out.  So i ventured out to girls night not feeling great, but it was good to get out of the house.  Happy Birthday to Michelle!!
Back at home we had a sick Dalia with a fever that kept spiking.  Tesila loves setting up Tea Parties.  Tesila had a Tea Party with her Dad while her sick sister Dalia lay on the couch resting.  Monday morning came and Dalia still had a fever and then started throwing up.  I called the pediatrician and they had an opening that morning at 10am.  This same morning at 10:30am was also my first OBGYN Doctors appointment for this pregnancy.  Brian usually comes to my first appointment with me.  And i always take Dalia to the doctor.  This time was different.  Brian got Dalia and Tes ready and headed out to meet our pediatrician with the girls.  I got ready and headed off to my doctors appointment.

My doctors appointment went fine.  Except i felt sick the entire time!  and i was sad to not have Brian with me!  However, the best part was that i got to see our little baby inside of me and see a heart beating!  Best news i could get!  I was sad that Brian wasn't there to see it though.  At the pediatrician's office the Doctor just figured that Dalia either had a virus that was going around or a bladder infection.  So Brian had to help Dalia pee in a cup to get her urine tested.  A few days later the results came back with a negative on the bladder infection and Dalia's week long fever was finally starting to go away for good.

Grandma Dalia & Fireman Preston!
My friend Alycia was making a book for her son Preston of pictures of him being a fireman!  (the book turned out super cute!)  She asked to have Dalia dress up like an old lady and bring her kitty so that Preston could save her kitty from being stuck on the playground.  Dalia had fun dressing up!  And it was perfect because Dalia had just received some very neat scarfs from Gigi and Gigi's wig that she sometimes wore.  Dalia was the cutest little Grandma!  I know Gigi would have been so proud of her.  (Gigi was an actress herself and enjoyed dressing up).

Gigi's Funeral-Take Two - Sept. 29, 2010

This morning was Gigi's Funeral.  We were glad to be surrounded by so many of Brian's family.  We had a nice meeting in the chapel talking about Gigi's life and the many people she touched!  Brian's dad Mark sang a beautiful song!  And then we all drove to the cemetery for the graveside service.  Brian, his brothers, and cousins were the ball bearers and carried Gigi's casket to her final resting place.  I am really glad that we were able to make it to Duschene this week to be with our family during this time.

Here we are after the funeral playing in Gigi's front yard with the fallen crap apples from her tree.  Dalia & Tes had a lot of fun playing with their cousins Haley and Brady.  They kept calling Brady "Boy" as they would chase him around.

That afternoon was very warm.  We wanted to go swim in the Strawberry river!  but when we arrived the river was SO low!  We waded in the river until we realized that the water was so low because they were working on cleaning up an oil spill.  So we headed over to the Starvation Reservoir.  The boys (Brian, Eric, Tyler, & Jason) went cliff jumping while Dalia, Tesila, & I stayed close to the shore and waded in the water.

Tomorrow morning we start our drive back to Washington!  I'm not looking forward to it.  I really don't like being sick.

Gigi's Viewing - Sept. 28, 2010

We got a call last Thursday, September 23rd from Brian's dad informing us that Brian's sweet Grandma had passed away.  My girls knew her as Gigi, their Great Grandma!!  We of course all love Gigi and are going to miss her very much.  But we are also comforted because we know that someday we will be able to see her again!
We looked into plane tickets to Utah and decided that that was an expensive option.  So instead on Mon. Sept. 27th we loaded up our car with the four of us and picked up Eric on the way and started our drive to Utah.  Emily couldn't come because she was starting her first week of her last year of law school.  Emily we missed you.  And of course this last weekend is when my Morning Sickness really kicked in.  I have felt miserable all weekend and the last thing i want to do is sit in a car!  It was hard sitting in the car for 10 mins. just to Eric's place.  I was not looking forward to this long 15 hour drive!  But i survived!

We arrived at my mom and Lane's apartment in Salt Lake City around midnight.  We were greeted by my step-sister Randi who was living there at the time.  My mom and Lane were on their way back from Portland and should arrive in the morning.  We woke up the next morning to my mom making us Breakfast!  It was fun to have a sleepover at my mom's home unexpectedly.  After breakfast the girls, my mom, and Brian went swimming; Eric went shopping (he forgot to bring his swim suit), and i took a shower and got ready for the day.  Shortly after all that we packed up the car again and drove the last 2 hours of our drive to Duchesne.

In Duchesne we drove straight to Grandma Dona's house.  It was definitely different being there without her.  I kept expecting her to just walk around the corner.  It was good to see Brian's parents and his Aunt's and Uncle's.  We went over to the church to help set up for the viewing that would be held that night.  We all sat in the relief society room full of beautiful flowers with Gigi's beautiful purple casket and Gigi's body inside.  It was hard sitting in that room.  Dalia kept wanting to go look in the casket at Gigi's body.  Every now and then the girls would ask when Gigi was going to wake up.

Our family stayed at Gigi's friends Gayle & Dean Y. home!   They are the nicest people.  She had crayons and a Huge coloring book for the girls to color in.  Dalia spent most of her time at the viewing under the relief society table coloring.  It reminded me of my Great Grandma Vi's funeral.  I remember sitting under a piano during her viewing.  After the viewing we all returned to Gigi's house to reminisce and short through her belongings.  We found some dress-ups and Dalia and Tes had fun playing in them!

Ducks.Playtime - Sept. 26, 2010

Last Wednesday Tes and I dropped Dalia off to Preschool and we went to feed the ducks! Tes was a little scared at first. I don't blame her the beaks were right in her face. So i sat her on this concrete bench and she enjoyed it a whole lot more. After we fed the ducks we went to Story Time at the library. When Tes first started to go to story time as a baby she always wanted to sit in my lap, suck her two special fingers, and grab tightly onto my shirt like she would her blanket. Finally last April she started sitting by Dalia on the floor and participating, i wasn't making her!! Hooray! Well, not so much anymore. Now Tes has no Dalia to sit by. She talks about story time before and after we go. But when we are at story time she sits right by me, doesn't participate, and sometimes throws a fit. I know she likes it cause she talks about it. We will keep trying.

Dalia & Tes love having Tea Parties lately!! They set them up all by themselves and they even fill up their tea pot and cups with water from the tap by themselves too! Dalia loves stuffed animal Cat's! She found this basket in my room and put all her cats in it and carried them around all day. She even made a "carriage" for them to ride in. She drives the carriage while the kitties ride safely in the basket behind her. Below is a cute video of her driving her carriage!!

"Flower!" - Sept. 18, 2010

Daddy Daughter Date!
Brian and Dalia went on a date to the pet store and came home with "Flower." Dalia's new black kitty!

Pumpkin Hurl - Sept. 18, 2010

We went to the Snohomish Pumpkin Hurl.  It was a beautiful hot day down at the farm.   There were about six Trebushay's Hurling pumpkins across a field.  Along with the pumpkin hurling there was a Renaissance fair going on and sword fighting.  Eric & Emily were there too!  Tes was so excited to ride on the wagon pulled by a tractor back to the parking lot.  Eric brought Brian's belated birthday gift from his mom & dad.  It was a Roomba!!  one of those robot vacuums.  I was unsure of it at first since we always have toys or something on the floor.  But i now like it.  Brian usually picks everything up and lets Suck-E go.  I haven't had to sweep in awhile!
Later that night Brian took Dalia on a date!  They went to the Pet Store!  and came back with a stuffed black kitty that Dalia named, Flower!  She had so much fun with her daddy!

Brian's Birthday! - Sept. 15, 2010

Happy Birthday to Brian!!!

We started off the morning celebrating Brian!  He took the day off work to play with his girls!  For breakfast we had German Pancakes with Blackberry syrup and opened presents!!  Brian got some new pants, shorts, Swedish fish, a bike rack for his car, and a pregnancy test!!  He took his first pregnancy test today!  Except i supplied the urine sample.  The test came out POSITIVE!!  We are going to have another baby!!

After present opening and breakfast we dropped Dalia off for her 2nd day of preschool.  Then Tes and I took Brian to the "blue playground" (what Tes calls it, because the slides are blue) by the library to play and then to Story Time!!

"Old Robe Trail"

After Story-time we picked up Dalia from Preschool and headed out east to Granite Falls.  We found the Old Robe Trail trail head and started our hike!  It was cloudy but not cold.  Tesila walked the entire way down happy as ever.  Dalia walked the entire way too, but complained most of the time.  We hiked down to the old railroad tracks right next to the river.  We made our way across some boulders so that we could walk through one of the old railroad tunnels.  Very cool, but it was scary walking across the boulders.  Brian carried Dalia across and then came back and carried Tes.  As we were leaving the tunnel heading back to the car it started to sprinkle.  The rain kept getting harder and harder.  Brian however, wanted to swim in the river!  The past two years on Brian's birthday we have gone somewhere where he was able to go swimming.  Last year we went to Boardman's Lake and the year before that we went to Green Lake.  So this year he wanted to continue his new tradition and swim.  So the girls and i found shelter from the rain under a rock and watched as Brian swam in the river for a few minutes!  Brian then carried Tes who fell right to sleep back to the car.  I dragged Dalia along and we finally made it back to the car all wet.  It was a fun and beautiful hike!  I'm glad that we went.

Back at home we got ready for Brian's birthday party!  I made him a Coconut Lime Cheesecake!!!  It was fun to make as SO good!!  Dalia and Tes wanted daddy to have a Shark birthday party!  They wanted me to make him a shark cake.  Instead i made him the cheesecake and we bought him a shark toy to go on top.  Dalia even wanted to have gray and brown balloons.  But all i got were black balloons and black wrapping paper that had candles on it.  It worked.  Eric & Emily came over that night to help us celebrate Brian!  Dalia and Tes enjoyed putting the candles on daddy's cake!  and Brian lit all his candles in true H.'s fashion.
Happy Birthday to Brian!!  I like celebrating YOU!!

Spotlight Dalia - Sept. 14, 2010

My little girl Dalia started PreSchool! She is so very excited!! She has been telling people, "i'm four i'm going to preschool." and then Tes will say, "And i go to Library!!" Because i told Tes when Dalia goes to preschool i will take Tes to story time at the library.
Dalia is being Spotlighted for the month of September. Here she is with her poster all about herself. I had so much fun making her poster with her. She loved gluing everything and putting the stickers on.

She loved playing with the four photos that we had to put on her poster. After church she took all four photos in her hand and showed them one at a time and sang a song that went along with whatever picture was being shown. I think this girl has been to Primary!!

Dalia was chewing some gum and it fell out of her mouth and she couldn't find it anywhere. She was quite worried. I started to help her look for it and found it in her hair.

PreSchool - Sept. 13, 2010

Dalia’s First Day of PreSchool! – Monday, September 13, 2010

-Dalia what did you do at preschool today?

Color some A’s. Draw my name. I draw three of my names. Sing a song about sticky bubble gum. And we read a story about Merica (America). And we find a lots of apples down stairs and we put to peach basket and we go to the apple tree and that’s all it.

-Didn’t you paint?

Paints make the paintings White: light blue, light purple, light green, and red turned pink, light yellow, brown changed gray. (They were learning about the color white so they mixed white paint with other colors to see what it did.)

-What was your favorite thing at preschool today!?

"A" Monster, “AHHHHHH.” (said with much enthusiasm by Dalia while holding her arms up by her face as if to claw like a monster while screaming Ahhhh!) He has some teeth and we have to scream AHHH. I want to make "A" Monster.

September is Here! - Sept. 8, 2010

September is here! Dalia & Tes got new Rain boots!! Brian and Eric went biking and it poured! They got quite muddy! Dalia and Tes look so cute ready for church all matchy matchy! Tesila loves Carrots! She gets them out of the fridge herself and just snacks! Dalia actually wasn't washing the dishes she was making a "Pie!" There is a video below of her mixing up the soapy water and adding different things to make her "pie."

Mariners Game - Aug. 30, 2010

We went to our annual Mariners game with our college friends Aug. 30th. The kids had fun playing at the play place and on the bleachers. Half of them had fun meeting the Moose (Olivia and Tes weren't too sure about him). Dalia keeps asking when are we going to see the Moose in basketball clothes (she doesn't know her sports). I think Olivia and Tes look like little twins! Especially from the back. They both have such beautiful curly blond hair!!

Ape Caves - Aug. 29, 2010

Ape Caves are south of Mt. St. Helen's in Cougar, WA. They are Lava Tubes that were formed thousands of years ago. There is a lower and upper cave. We hiked the lower easy cave (we had babies with us). We got all bundled up and accessorized with glow sticks (which the girls loved!). Then we hiked into the dark caves. It was really neat to be in the caves.
After we got back out of the lower caves Brian decided he wanted to hike the upper caves. Our other friends had left and it was just me, brian, and the girls left. I didn't want to hike the upper caves with the girls, since it is the hard one where you have to climb over boulders in the dark.

So i left Brian to hike the upper cave and i drove a mile south to the Trail of Two Forests hike. Me and the girls had a little picnic and took our time playing and singing. Then we began our 1/4 mile boardwalk hike. It was really quite awesome! This was an area that had been destroyed by lava thousands of years ago. The lava flowed threw here and caught the trees on fire. Then the magma cooled so fast that it left a cast of the tree trunk and burned the rest of the tree inside (i don't know if that makes any sense, but it was really cool). So because of the lava burning the trees and the magma leaving tree casts. We saw a lot of whole that were perfect circles! Or long tubes that were perfect circles, because they once were tree trunks!
Video:Dalia sings her own song - "Hold my Hand" - Aug. 2010

Video:Tes sings her own song "Drive to Hiking" - Aug. 2010

On our little hike there was an area where you could crawl threw some tree casts called, "the Crawl!" However, when we got to it, we didn't have any flash lights because we gave them all to Brian. So we just looked inside. When we were almost back to the car Brian came walking down the trail. He had finished his hike in the upper cave and walked down to meet us. So we went back to "the Crawl!" with flash lights. And i'm sure glad we did because it was Dalia's most favorite thing of the entire trip! Brian strapped the head lamp to her head and off she went. It was only about a 30 foot little tunnel. She would walk in one side and come out the other and want to do it again. So she walked to the beginning and crawled threw again. She still asked to go back to her tunnel with the ladder (you had to go down a ladder to get in the tunnel). I think that hike was my favorite thing about our trip. It was so cool and the girls loved it too!

Mt. St. Helen's - Aug. 28, 2010

Today was Mt. St. Helen's Day!

First i must mention that Brian and Eric spent most of their time at camp throwing their axes and trying to get them to stick into a tree. However, i didn't get any axe throwing pictures or video, to which Brian is disappointed. But he never asked me too and i was busy with other things. Sorry Brian. But i am making it know that axe throwing was going on.

After breakfast (and some axe throwing) we drove up Spirit Lake Highway to the Forest Learning Center. We watched a video of Mt. St. Helen's erupting, and walked around the center seeing how the forest grew back or was planted. We then had a picnic lunch on the lawn where Mat & Bri's family joined us. Then we drove the last few miles to the end of the Highway to Johnston's Ridge Observatory. This is the closest you can drive to see the crater with the best views. However, for us clouds were on top of the mountain all day. So it kinda looked like it was still steaming from the eruption, right!?
Later on Tes was telling me how it was sad that the mountain erupted and Dalia overheard and piped in, "No it wasn't sad, it was COOL!"

After our view from Johnston's ridge we drove back down the highway to the Hummocks Trail. There we went on a 2 1/2 mile hike threw an area that was destroyed by the eruption. It had some great views of St. Helen's too. Dalia hiked the entire hike herself. However, she did complain quite a bit.
Then we drove a little bit more to Coldwater Lake. I sat on the side and watched Brian, Dalia, & Tes wade, play, and throw rocks in the water. Then we headed back to camp for dinner and s'mores again!
