End of March 2009

I'm finally done posting March 2009!!!
Dalia practiced being a flower girl in her 'belle' dress.
Preston came to play and dalia and him had fun playing with their grapes instead of eating them.
Tesila is a great crawler and likes to climb onto things.
Tesila also enjoys stomping on her gold fish crackers.
Dalia still loves penguins and loves to line things up in a row.
Cutest baby Tes and her sweet sad faces! I love them! (is that bad of me to love her sad faces?!). If you look closely you can she her huge tear running down the left side of her cheek. Oh, and i can't remember whey she was crying. Probably because i wasn't holding her, lately she ALWAYS wants to be held by either me or Brian. We love Tes!

Woodland Park Zoo

We had a girls day at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle!
Lindsey, Jessica, baby Samantha, Bri, Emma, Olivia, Dalia, Tesila, and me (britni). Told ya, all girls!
It was so fun! i was scared to go at first with both dalia and tes and no brian. But i'm sure glad that i went. thanks to lindsey for the great idea!!
It was Tesila's nap time and she just sat the entire time in the stroller until she finally drifted off to sleep. Dalia loved running around with and seeing all the animals and especially climbing and finding little places to sit on.

We're so glad when Daddy comes home!

"We are so glad when daddy comes home, glad as we can be!
Clap our hands and shout for joy and climb upon his neck.
But our arms around his leg and hug him tight like this!
Grab his face and give him what?!
A Great BIG Kiss!!!"

We love love love our Daddy!!!
Especially when he comes home from work to play with us!!
We (britni, dalia,& tesila) all race to the door to see who gets to hug him first!
Thank you for being such a good daddy and husband!

Dalia likes to lick the beater and spatulas that contain goodness from cooking (what kid/adult doesn't?).

Tesila has 3 1/2 teeth now!! She still loves to suck on her two middle fingers on her right hand. It is starting to become a habit and not just a comfort/sleepy time thing. But when ever she gets tired she sucks on her fingers on her right hand and with her left hand will cuddle her blanket up to her nose to smell it. (reminds me of cousin Ava because she has likes so smell her blanket too!)

Family

Dalia and her paper dolls that we made at Family Home Evening (FHE) tonight.
(Mommy, Tesila, Dalia, & Daddy)
Dalia is really interested in families and temples right now. For FHE we learned about our family, sang songs about families, and we each colored a paper doll representing ourselves. Dalia loves to play with them and make them talk to one another and give each other hugs.

Her favorite family song is...
"Here we are together" where we name everyone in the family.
"Here we are together together together,
Here we are together in our family.
There's Mommy and Dalia and Tesila and Daddy
(and she always sings them in that order, if i sing them out of order she makes us stop and sing it again in 'her' order).
Here we are together in our family."

Bonfire

This weekend Eric & Emily had a great idea to have a huge pallet bonfire to burn Emily's notes from one of her law classes. So we set out to find a spot to have the great bonfire!
We had huge bonfires all the time when we were in Idaho at college and it is something that we have missed doing here in Washington.

I'm not exactly even sure where we had our fire, but we found this awesome rock quarry place, just perfect for a bonfire. The boys stacked up the pallets and the fire began. Dalia thought it was pretty neat. Emily enjoyed burning her notes. And Brian enjoyed reading her notes while wearing a burger king hat and trying to make sense of the notes. When the fire burned down we roasted smores, yum! What a great idea Eric & Em, thanks for inviting us!!

Stripe Leggings

If you haven't realized before i really like dressing the girls alike. I sometimes dress to match them too, not always the exact same thing, but the same color.
I loved their leggings today and tried to get some good pictures of the both of them. I think i got some fun pictures of them. Then we took a few mom and daughter pictures and this was the best one. I love my little girls!

snow.rice.shoes

  • Tesila loves to look at books - loves Daddy - and Rice!
  • Dalia loves to wear her apron and help mama cook!
  • Dalia's new mermaid shirt. She always asks, "where is the mermaid head!?" and then points to her head!
  • We got flower girl dresses for Aunt Callie's wedding! Here is Dalia in her yellow dress! She calls it her "Belle dress" (Belle from Beauty & the Beast).
  • My cute diaper girls in their pink room!
  • My new shoes with my birthday mony!
  • Snow! So one monday we woke up to some rainy weather (normal). I was so sick that i couldn't get out of bed and throwing up (i think i had the stomach flu, luckily no one else got it). So Brian had to stay home from work to help take care of me and the girls. It started snowing about 10am or so and kept snowing until about 2pm with huge flakes that stuck. Brian and Dalia played out in the snow and made a Huge snowman. Then the sun came out and the snowman tipped over and the snow began to melt. What a fun and fast snow storm!

cds.fish.books

  • The girls doctor got a new office! it is so nice and they have a big TV fish tank! The girls loved watching the fish!
  • The picture of Tesila with all the CD's on the floor was taken by Dalia. I was in the other room and the girls got into the Cd's and Dalia i think tried to frame Tesila by taking her picture by them. I found them shortly there after, but didn't realize that Dalia had taken the picture until i uploaded the pictures to the computer.
  • We try to make it to story time at the library every week and check out some new books. Here is Dalia sitting on the couch enjoying the new books for the week.
  • The girls have matching snowflake shirts and i tried to get a picture of them together and Tesila did not want to (she was ready for a nap). However, i do love the picture of Tesila crying and Dalia hugging her! What a good sister.
  • Mynoa came to play and her and Dalia played dress-up!
  • Dalia loves to cook! and help in the kitchen!

Tesila is One!

Tesila Rose

One Year Check-Up
Weight: 21 lbs. 8 oz. (58%)
Height: 29.5" (63%)
Head Circum: 47.5 cm (97%)

Tesila went to the doctor today for her 1 year check-up! She is doing great!
-Two bottom teeth
-She still has her herniated belly button (it pops out like an outie, but the doctor said it most likely will go away by the time she is 2 years old)
-She got 3 shots today in her upper arms! what a trooper, she only cried a little bit. I think Dalia cried more than Tesila did.
-Great at crawling
-Not walking by herself yet (she loves to walk around as long as she is holding both of your hands, she could walk if she wanted to, but as soon as you let go of her hands she falls right to floor and starts to cry, i think she is just scared)
-She has great balance and we find her standing all by herself (i don't think she knows that she is standing, because she will let go of her support to hold onto a toy and just stand there).
-Drinks from a sippy cup & started drinking cows milk in her bottle

Tesila's Pre-Birthday!

Happy 1 Year Older to Tesila Rose!
Our Leap Day Baby!

Brian has something to say everytime i mention Tesila's birthday, 'it is not her birthday.' So he has come up with a name for February 28th - it is "Tesila's they're skipping my birthday day party!" Since we went to MacKenzie's bowling party today we decided to celebrate Tesila's birthday on March 1st this year. But she still got pampered today too!

She woke up and i made her waffles with strawberries and whip cream! However, she did not like them, she took a few bites and then just started to scream. I dressed her up all pretty and put pretty bows in her hair. She got to eat her favorite thing for dinner, "Carrots!" I started to make her CareBear cake! Brian began to blow up purple ballons, which Tesila enjoyed crawling around with, and then she got to open a few cards! She got a one dollar bill from great grandma & grandpa C! However, she just tossed it aside quickly and proceeded to look point at the balloons on the front of the card!

We sure love our baby Tesila and can't wait to celebrate even more tomorrow!!!

Bowling Party

Dalia's friend MacKenzie had a Bowling birthday party!

We had never taken Dalia bowling before so i was excited to see what she would think. However, Brian took her up when it was her turn and she practically ran away crying. (there were about 8 birthday parties going on at the same time, lots and lots of people there, and TONZ of noise. Needless to say she didn't like bowling, but she did like playing with the arcade games. About half way through the bowling they turned down the lights and put on the disco ball and some music and dalia was in heaven dancing up a storm. She totally loves dancing! (if i didn't know before). She had fun watching MacKenzie open her presents and eat just the icing off her piece of cake. Dalia also helped me make a tutu (thanks for your help Callie) for MacKenzie and was sooo excited to give it to her.

Britni's Birthday!

Happy Happy Birthday to me!!

What a nice birthday it was! I spent the day playing with my girls, we went to story time at the library, Tes cut her gum open and bled a little bit, but she is fine now. Brian took me and the girls out to dinner and surprised me with "BAJIO"!!! Yum! i didn't know that they even had one of these here. There was one in Rexburg that we used to go to. And they just opened one here close to us. i was so excited, and it was sooo good!! Then Brian made me the BEST cake ever! some know it as, 'better than sex cake.' So yummy! Tesila loved it too! I had the best little party ever with my 3 favorite people there! Dalia was so excited! She loved watching me light my candles (a Brian family tradition!) Then i opened presents! I got my first MP3 player and it is PINK! and to go along with it i got a stereo to go under my kitchen cabinets and i can plug my MP3 player into it, so me and the girls can dance in the kitchen. i'm so excited! Dalia was excited too and kept calling the stereo a 'dance-it.' I also got a slicer for my kitchen aid and some money, which i'm going to buy some new shoes! Thank you thank you family!!

Here is one of my favorite birthday presents of all. Dalia sang me happy birthday!! She used to sing, "happy to you happy to you," over and over. But she learned how to sing the real thing. Here she goes, and i just love her party hat (a stove drip pan)...

Bedtime

I am not very good at routines but i'm trying to get better. We have been used to going to bed whenever but i recently decided that that just wasn't working for our little family. So my new goal is to but the girls in bed at 9pm. So far it is working great. The girls brush their teeth, Brian reads them a story, and then i sing them "Angel-by" (also known as 'Angel Lullaby'). These are just some pictures that i captured at bedtime tonight of Brian reading to Dalia and Tesila not paying attention to the story, but enjoying her bottle.

Making Dinner

Dalia really likes to help make dinner. Tonight she had fun grating the cheese and playing with the olives! You can't be too serious when you are cooking dinner.

For dinner we were making stuff shells. When i was ready to fill the shells i asked Dalia to hand me the shells. She quickly did but called them "Turtle Shells." I told her that they are like sea shells not turtle shells. But it didn't matter to her. We were having "turtles" for dinner and she was excited!! Now she calls most past turtles.

Here is a video of dalia looking at a picture of our family and naming everyone and then pointing at them. i love it...

SuperHero Dalia

Dalia in all her super hero poses!

At the birthday party! Dalia was afraid of birthday boy Aiden, he was dressed up in a spider man costume complete with a mask. When he would walk by she would say, "scary." She has fun running around with the other kids, eating her hamburger & fries, and picking at the frosting on her cupcake. I would have to say that she was definatly the cutest super hero there!
Tes enjoyed wearing the Burger King hat and playing with Dalia's kids meal toy.

Broom Dancing

My girls love dancing with their broom! It all started with Dalia loving the "Make a man out of you," song from Mulan, she loves to dance to that song and always has to have her broom to dance with to use as the fighting stick that mulan uses in the movie. So of course Tes wanted to dance with the broom too. I think this might be the first real thing that Tesila is doing to be like her big sister!

Tesila Broom Dancing:

Dalia Broom Dancing:
Dancing to her favorite broom dancing song from Mulan "Let's get down" (that is the first line in the song, it is the "Make a Man out of you" song.

Animal Baby books

Thank you Gigi for our Animal Baby books we LOVE them!!!

Carseat/Cape

Ta-dah! Tesila got a new carseat! She is officially a big girl! No more carrying her carseat around with her sleeping inside (that is the part i will miss, her staying asleep). But she fits in this carseat much better. Dalia & Tesila love to make each other laugh while we are riding in the car. I just hear giggles coming from them, i'm not sure what is going on but they are happy!

Next, I made Dalia a cape today! It's her Super Hero cape for her Super Hero costume party this weekend. She calls it her "super." "mama, where's my super?!"

Pocahontas

This morning we dropped Grandma & Grandpa off to see grandma's friend Laurie and then they were off to the airport on there way to see the sights of Washington DC.
Tesila, Grandma, Grandpa, & Dalia
One last picture before they left!
We love you, thank you for coming to visit! We had so much fun!

On the way home the girls and i stopped to go shopping for a new carseat for Tes!
We made a bathroom stop and they had one of these cool seats for your baby to sit on so she doesn't have to crawl all over the floor, awesome! Or so i thought. However, if you notice where Tesila's hand is in relation to the lock on the door, and it was quite and easy lock to maneuver too. What an awful place to put the baby seat. Not very smart if you ask me. Luckily i was basically done before she had got the lock completely figured out and the door swinging open.

PS. After quite some time at 2 different stores. Tesila is the proud new owner of a convertible front/back facing carseat!

Pocahontas
This is our very own beautiful Pocahontas!!
She likes to put towels on her head (her beautiful long hair) and wrap blankets (her pretty clothes) around herself and tell us that she is "pocahontas." I love it!

Grandma&Grandpa

Dalia, Mark, Dixie, Britni, Tesila, & Brian
We have had a fun weekend with Brian's parents in town. I think this was a good picture for being on a timer.

Today was Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but Brian and Eric still had to work and Emily was busy in the library working on her law school brief. So me and the girls got to show off the town to Grandma & Grandpa. However, we met up with Eric & Brian for lunch at a Seafood place called "Arnie's" that had a great view of the sound and it was such a clear and beautiful day.

This morning started out not so good. Tesila took her first real fall down the stairs and not just a few, the entire staircase. Well i caught her before she hit the last one (the wood step). But she was a little shook up (as she should be). I felt so bad. She has been doing really well on stairs, but i but her shoes on her while she was in her bedroom and then she started to come down the stairs, so i think her shoes were in the way. She cried for just a bit and we cuddled on the couch. Then she was fun, just a little rug burn on her nose. (if you look closely you can see it in the picture of her looking straight at the camera).

She also enjoyed chewing on the crayons at the restuarant. After lunch the boys went back to work and we went to "ToysR'Us." Dalia had so much fun (as all kids do there).

Tower Cookies & Games

Here is Dalia "trying" to eat one of the famous Tower Cookies!

Tonight we played some fun games! Cup Castle building, Lincoln's dice/writing to 100 game (that carrie doesn't like, i love it!), and Don't Eat Pete! I think the night was dubed 'Stupid Game night.' However, i really enjoy all those games, so i'm not sure what that means about me.
With the cup came we split into teams to race to see who could build the tallest tower in 2 minutes. Brian and i won (but we have done this before), Flora & Jen came in a close second, Mark & Dixie's fell over at the last second, and Eric was short two hands because Emily was busy on the couch with a date with her laptop, working on some law school brief.

Tesila enjoyed standing on her tippee toes to reach the magnets on the fridge!

Cupboard Sisters

My little girls love climbing into the cupboards and playing peek-a-boo, or just sitting in there together. But of course they first have to throw all the dish towels out of the cupboard and sometimes the pots and pans and even the tubberware. It is an awesome game. Well at least they both sure think so. I really enjoy watching them play. They get so excited and laugh so hard at eachother! They really are such great friends!! I hope it can stay that way! I love my girls!!

Musicana

Dalia really likes her Grandpa Ha. She especially loves to sing with him! Today he taught her a new song that i call "Musicana." She just loves it, she gets to sing, dance, and make funny movements with her hands, perfect!! Here is a little clip of Dalia and Grandpa singing Musicana...

Turtle Valentine

Guess what?! I think Brian likes me!!! check out what i found on my counter the morning of Valentines day! Yes, that is one pink turtle that poops chocolate chips!! Inside it was full of Hershey's dark raspberry chocolate kisses (my favorite) and raspberry hug kisses!! yum!! I sure love that Brian! Thank you! p.s. i love turtles, the color pink, and dark chocolate (for those that didn't know, obviously Brian knew!)

Grandma & Grandpa Ha came to visit us this weekend!! So today we had a Valentine sugar cookie making party! Emily & Eric came too! It was quite the event. Those Ha's sure get into their cookie decorating! I just frost the same thing over and over. Not these guys, each cookie was different. Mark (Brian's dad) really started something when he build the first tower cookie (stacked the hearts with marshmallows in between each layer, that was the first one at least, they got more complex as the decorating went on). Brian even made some "cute" butterfly cookies! He is just so sweet! Dalia loved making, decorating, and eating the cookies! Tesila even got to frost a cookie. I think she enjoyed eating them more though.

Cut-its

Dalia is learning how to use scissors and to cut things. I know this is probably a bad thing, but she is going to learn sometime anyways. Today we were making valentines. I was cutting them out into hearts and giving Dalia the scraps to cut up. If she couldn't reach her little green scissors she would ask me for her "green cut-its." She loves to cut the paper into tiny little pieces and then throws the little pieces on the floor. She is very into cutting if you can't tell from the picture.

Fireplace

Posted by Picasa
Brian did an amazing job on transforming our fireplace to it's current state. A few weeks before Christmas he started the demolition on the fireplace, completely tore up all the tile and cut down the bricks that were underneath the tile. The weekend after Christmas he put our new tile around the firplace and repaired the wall. Just last night he finished the mantel and glued it on. It is now Done!!! Hooray!! It looks beautiful! Thank you Brian!
