End of March 2011

If you didn't know, Dalia LOVES to make sandwiches!

The weather was so beautiful the fourth week of March!!  We enjoyed having Picnics in our yard and running around outside!
She finally did it!  She cut her own hair, ALL BY HERSELF!!  And she was so very proud!  I was out in the backyard enjoying the weather.  Dalia was inside coloring and cutting up paper, which she loves to do lately.  Or so i thought that's what she was doing.  I came inside to she how she was doing and found her in the bathroom.  She cut off the front of her hair on both sides to her chin.  She had even cleaned it up and put it in the trash can.  I am so glad that she didn't cut Tesila's.  We are still undecided as to what to do with her hair now.
Brian got his present to himself in the mail, finally!!  It only took about a month to get here.  He is SO very excited!!
We said good bye to Grandpa & Grandma Ha.  They were headed back to Alaska after there 2 week stay with us, while Grandpa recovered from his surgery.  However, they will be coming back in June to meet our baby brother!  and stop by to see at doctor down in Seattle.
Picnic with Grandma before she left.

Tesila loves her baby brother!!  She hasn't even met him yet and she loves him!  She already talks about how he is going to wear her diapers, sleep in her crib, ride in her carseat, how she is going to change his diapers, wash him in the bath tub and how he is going to love baths!  She talks about how she is going to sing to him, give him his blanket and a binky.  She is such a cutie!
But it is the cutest when she randomly walks over to me and Kisses her baby brother (my tummy).  She loves him!  As of late Tes wants to name her baby brother, "Lizard one Boy one Geico."  (Tes usually says the word 'one' between words in sentences.)
Dalia had a close call the other night.  We tucked the girls in and went downstairs like usual.  Awhile later (at least a 1/2 hour later) i went upstairs to get something from my room and i heard a little girl crying in her room.  I went in the girls room to find Dalia just crying!  She was so sad and told me how she wanted to turn her night light on.  There night light is one of those that is turned on automatically when it is dark.  So i thought she had unplugged it.  I went to turn her lamp on and it didn't work.  Then Brian came upstairs and we realized that there was NO power working upstairs.  Brian mentioned that he thought he had heard a breaker switch awhile ago.  He went and flipped the breaker and the lights came on.  We found the black coming out of the nightlight and asked Dalia what happened.  She just cried how her necklace broke.  We then realized that she was playing in the glow of her nightlight when she decided to hang her metal chain necklace on the night light!  Boom!  The power went out.  Sweet little thing was so distraught that she just stayed in her room crying.  I am just so glad that she is okay and didn't get electrocuted.
Tes got earrings for her birthday!!  Stick-on ones that is.  She doesn't want real ones, she says those are "poky."
 Tesi's cute little ears!
Tes is good at sharing with her big sister Dalia!
 Dalia's cute little ear!
Brian and Dalia LOVE to play K'nex!  Brian is a master k'nex builder.  Dalia is quickly becoming one.  She will play with K'nex for hours making all sorts of things.  This is what they did all saturday morning.  They built a k'nex ball machine.  It carries the toy balls up and they slide down the ramp and go back up again.

Cut.Hair.Swim.Electrocute - Mar. 23-24, 2011

Brian made a Knex ball Run.  Dalia enjoyed helping him.  We enjoyed our first Picnic of the year on our front lawn!  We got home and it was so nice outside we decided to eat outside.  Grandma came to watch the girls at swim lessons!!  and Dalia did something that every kid eventually does.  She CUT her own hair!  I could not believe it.
Dixie and i were out on the deck talking.  The girls were inside at the coloring table (or so i thought).  Lately Dalia has been coloring and cutting all sorts of pictures.  So i have left the scissors at her table.  I then realize that i haven't heard any noise from the girls so i went inside to check on them.  They were coming out of the bathroom.  Dalia told me proudly that she cut her hair.  She just took a chop at each side and threw the hair in the garbage can.  I just started to laugh.  (i was sad that she cut her hair, but really what could you do, and at least it wasn't right to her scalp).  I was soooo thankful that she didn't cut Tesila's too and that her's wasn't too short.
The past few days she has been saying that she wants to get her hair cute like Alisi's (who is in her preschool class.  Alisi just got her hair cut to her shoulders).  But before this week Dalia would tell me how she loved her long hair and didn't ever want it short.  So this was a new thing this week that for three nights in a row she would ask to have short hair.  I didn't want to just go and get it cut because I wasn't sure if she really knew what she wanted.  So i think she just felt like she wanted it short and Alisi got her hair cut.  So Dalia cut it.  Now i'm not sure what to do.  Dixie offered to cut it, but I'm just not ready for her hair to be chopped off.  If i put her hair in a little side pony tail  you can't really tell.  So i am waiting a few days to decide what i will do.

Tesila is sooo cute!!  She loves to give baby brother (aka-my tummy) hugs and kisses!!  She also likes to wash baby brother (my tummy) when we are in the shower.  She is going to be a great big sister!!  Also, Tes got Stick on Earrings for her birthday!  The girls have fun choosing which ones they want to wear!

Okay, there is another long story about Dalia this past week.  She electrocuted herself.  After we tucked the girls into bed we went downstairs like normal.  About an hour later i went upstairs and tried to turn on a light in my room and it would go on.  Then i heard crying coming from the girls room.  Dalia was crying on her bed.  Not just a cry.  It was more of a whimper scared kind of cry.  I called for Brian to fix this no light situation since the lights in the girls room wouldn't turn on either.  Brian had to flip the breaker and the lights came back on.  We figured out that Dalia was awake playing with a metal necklace.  She went over to her nightlight and decided to hang the necklace over the nightlight.  As she did that the metal necklace hit the nightlight prongs and poof!  There might have been a spark, but either way the lights went out and the nightlight and wall turned black and Dalia began to cry.  She was scared!  But she didn't come to tell us she just went back to her bed and cried.  I am so very glad that she was okay!  So we had a talk about why that wasn't safe and to never do that again.  Oh, and it also broke the necklace in two.

Green Day! - Mar. 17, 2011

March: Rainy Days, Umbrellas, Rain Boots, Puddle Stomping!!  Swim Lessons with our friend Preston!!  Baking Mini Green cupcakes for the Preschool St. Patrick's day party!!  I love the picture of the girls sitting in their pink chairs watching the cupcakes bake!  Dalia has an awesome preschool teacher for the month of March!  She has taught them all about Leprechaun's and St. Patrick's day!  Dalia made a little Leprechaun castle, Leprechaun hat, and a Leprechaun TRAP!!  That's right she made a trap to catch Leprechaun's.  The Leprechaun's are supposed to walked to get the "gold coins" (chocolate) and fall through the tissue paper and be stuck in her box.  She was sooo excited and played with her trap and castle all afternoon.  Her teacher Miss Serena even taught the kids a leprechaun song that they sang for us at the party.  So cute!!
St. Patrick's Day is one of my Favorite holidays!!
I love to wear green and make a fun green dinner!  This year we had swimming lesson's on st. patrick's day and i had a Stake Young Women's meeting.  So i was sad that it might not happen.  But thanks to Grandma Dixie!!!  she pulled it off!  She stayed at home and cooked while i took the girls to swim lessons and cleaned up when i went to my meeting.  I felt like i came home ate and left again.  Thank you dixie!!  It was a memorable dinner for me.  We even made a time lapse video of us eating.  Those are fun to watch!  And Brian and the girls played the game "Life" while i was gone.  The girls like that game!
The girls also found their bat in the backyard so Brian made them a T-ball stand and we taught them how to play T-ball!  I think they both look cute ready to bat!

Grandpa is here!! - Mar. 4-9, 2011

Papa came to visit for Tesila's birthday and to watch Dalia in her dance class!!
The is what happened after Tesila's birthday!  One night Papa watched the girls so Brian and i could go on a date!  Brian and I went out to eat at "Famous Dave's BBQ!"  Then we went Mini-Golfing at a family fun center.  The golf course was half indoors and half out.  It was rainy and cold that night, so we golfed fast on the second half.  It was fun to spend sometime with just Brian.  My dad and the girls had fun at home.  I think my dad and the girls were excited for us to go.  When we were leaving Papa was making Chocolate Chip pancakes for dinner!
Tesila had her 3 year check-up.  My dad stayed home with Dalia and i took Tes to the Doctor.  Before we left i told Tes to pick a toy to take with her.  She choose a little dinosaur toy that she got at Burger King, Tes likes dinosaurs.  At the doctors they had her get dressed in a little hospital gown.  She looked so cute and nervous waiting for the doctor to come in.  Tesila weighed 34 lbs. and was 39"inches tall!  She is healthy!  I like the 3 year appointment because there are no shots involved!!  Afterward we went to Henry's for a Donut!!
Dalia's Dance class!!
Last year my dad was lucky enough to schedule his trip for Tesila's birthday during a time where he could attend one of Dalia's dance classes.  So this year he made sure to schedule his trip the same.  And this afternoon Brian was able to come too!  Dalia was so excited to have her dad and her grandpa there to watch her!  She did such a great job, she is always fun to watch prance around the room in her little leotard.  She was also glad to have her friend Alisi in her dance class.  Alisi is also in Preschool with Dalia too!
The sad part about dance class today was Tesila.  The past few times Tesila has wanted to dance.  But you have to be 3 1/2 to be in the class, and Tes wasn't even 3 when the class started.  So i have been telling Tes that she can't dance with the class because she isn't 3.  Well now she is 3!  On the way to dance she was talking about how she is wearing her new purple ballerina skirt (that she got for her birthday) and that she is 3 so she can dance.  At class the teacher called all the kids to start class and Tes went right over like she was part of the class.  I had to go and drag her back to the side.  She was very sad and sat on Brian's lap the entire time with a pouty face.  Poor girl she thought that since she was 3 she was now in the class.  Needless to say i felt horrible.  Next year Tes you can be in dance!!

Also while Papa was here we played in the yard with our left over snowman, rode our bikes, and when for walks!

We had stake conference this week and we all made our way to Marysville to a church house to watch it broadcast from another building, since our stake doesn't have a stake center we can't all fit in one building.  It was weird driving so far for church (about a 20 min. drive) when our old stake center building is about 5 mins. away.  We were glad that Papa could come and stay with us!  We always enjoy the time we have with him!!  Oh also, see those Pink cookies!  Dalia made those for Papa in February.  We shaved them in the cupboard for him.  Dalia was excited to give them to him.  However, i don't think he ate them, they were a little old.
After he left was the pinewood derby at church.  Brian works with the cub scouts and made some trophy's for the winners.  I work with the young women and the young women were helping out at the pinewood derby.  So we went as a family to the derby tonight.  The girls had fun running around with their friends and watching the cars.

"3 Year Old Tesila Rose!!!"

My Tesila is 3!!!
Tes requested a Cinderella Cake (she has actually been talking about her Cinderella cake for at least 6 months).  So we had a Cinderella theme party!  She also requested "Salad" for dinner!  So i made a giant Cobb Salad!  and we had Jello beans!  Papa came to Washington just for Tesila's birthday!  We picked him up at the airport the day before.  Then the day of Tesila's birthday we made french toast for breakfast!  Then Papa played with the girls, the played the Fishing game!  and watched a movie!  While i made the Cinderella Cake!!  Aunt Emily came over for dinner (Uncle Eric is in the UK for work).  We played some games hosted by Dalia (Duck Duck Goose and some kind of Pin the Word strip on the Wall, Dalia was really excited to be in charge of games).  Tes wore her Cinderella dress and i put her hair up in a Cinderella Bun (I have learned since her previous party).  Then we opened presents!  Tes got Pince Charming Barbie from Aunt Jami!!!!!!!  Tes got Glass Slippers from Papa!!  Tes got Cinderella Crown from Mom & Dad!  A beautiful Cinderella Nightgown from Grandma Carolyn & Grandpa Lane!  A little Rapunzel, a little Flynn Rider, and a little Boat from Aunt Emily!  (she had been asking for this specifically just how i typed it!)  It was a great birthday!!  I loved celebrating the life of Tesila!  We are so glad that she is now 3!
