We got up early this morning in Duchesne to start our 16 hour drive back home. It was about 7am-mst and really cold! The girls perked up later on in the day and loved eating Oreo's and singing. Well Tes loved screaming! Dalia sung "I'm a Child of God" over and over again for about an hour. She sings it quite well (she did get a lot of practice). We arrived home that night at about 10:30PM - PST. The next night for home evening we read a Christmas story from Grandma Ho. and build a Christmas puzzle. Then after only 2 years of me wanting the Fisher Price Nativty we got it! I wrapped it for the girls to open. They loved it! They fought over the baby Jesus and made eachother cry. They haven't stopped playing with it.
I love the picture of Dalia covering her little mouth! She is happy hear! Giggling actually! This is a mannerism of Cousin Ava! I was surprised to see Dalia do this, but i knew exactly where she was copying it from. She sure likes Ava. I also like how Dalia put baby Jesus on the doll house Table with all the other people sitting around the table looking at him.
My girls LOVE to be read to!! Can you tell?! In Utah they had lots of takers to read to them. They sure enjoyed being read to by all of them, Papa, Graat Grandma A., Aunt Callie, Gigi, & Grandma Ho.
We spent the day in Duchesne. We set up Gigi's Christmas Tree! Dalia loved putting on all the ornaments. Tesila mostly just watched but she did break one glass ball. Gigi's crab apple tree in the front yard had dropped most of it's crab apple all over the yard! (ok, actually we heard that cousin Linda and her Boyfriend Clinton shook them down so that the deer could eat them.) but they really needed to be raked up. So Dalia, Uncle Don, Brian, and I raked them up. Dalia helped for a little bit, but ended up finding her favorite stump to stand on and sing while daddy raked! Dalia loved building a house with the lincoln logs! And always asked for help, which Brian enjoyed creating new houses. Tesila would always happily knock them down. Dalia would get sad and ask Brian to build another house.
Video: Dalia singing on the stump!
Dalia saw the playground by Gigi's house and of course had to go play (Tesila was nappying and Brian & Gigi stayed at home talking). So Dalia and mommy went to play. We had fun chasing each other and hiding from one another. Dalia was scared to go down the tub slide. When we got back to Gigi's, Dalia helped Gigi dress Gigi's doll (i forgot the dolls name) for winter. They put on a coat and some boots! Dalia really seemed to like that the doll had boots! Tesila enjoyed Gigi reading stories to her. Dalia loved seeing the Christmas tree!
Oh, most of all Dalia loves Gigi's Carousel Horse that sings and spins around when you wind it up. When we came to Gigi's house in April Dalia loved playing with it then. This time Gigi told Dalia that she could have it and take it home! Thank you Gigi the girl love it!
How.Family Pictures 2009 My mom got each family a different color of T-shirt for our huge group picture! Our little family was assigned Navy Blue. However, i didn't get a picture of our little family on my camera. So if i want one i will have to buy one. But i think the huge group pictures turned out really well. I like how it all came together with the different T-shirts. It helps to know which people belong to each other.
However, it was Freezing! while we were standing outside getting and waiting for our pictures to be taken. Ava and Dalia wined a lot. Callie looked so Beautiful! My mom and her 3 grand daughters! All the kids still loved watching movies all piled in front of the TV in Grandma & Grandpa's room.
After pictures were taken we left and drove another hour to Duchesne to visit Gigi!
Dalia & Tes loved exploring the basement and finding all sorts of fun toys. Dalia like turning things into instruments and making music. She then found a keyboard which she LOVED playing and singing so that Tes could dance! (Video below). Dalia thought it was really neat to have a bath in Gigi's "PINK" tub! Dalia also liked Gigi's pink toilet and would comment on it every time she went potty.
Happy Thanksgiving Day 2009! (which also happens to be mine and Brian's 5th Year Anniversary! Happy Anniversary to us!) We spend the morning at my dad's house! Then packed up and headed to Midway, Utah to my Uncle Chris's condo for our huge How. family Thanksgiving with all 14 kids in attendance.
Thanksgiving Dinner! Coloring Contest! Brian was the oldest participant! He colored his with his left hand (he is right handed) and won the "Best Left-handed "senior" entry" award! I was sure proud of him! Ava's family won the 1st place award in the Pumpkin Growing contest! Jami made these cute cookie Turkey's to put at everyone's spot.
The kids loved watching movies all piled on G&G's bed and on the floor and running around the house chasing each other. I got a cute picture of Ava and me (which can be hard to do, because she doesn't like pictures). We had PingPong Tournaments going on throughout the entire day. Men's and Women's single Ping Pong and Doubles Ping Pong. Brian got out in his first game of singles (he was very sad, he wanted to play more, he was just warming up). Britni made it to the final round of the Women's Ping Pong and came in Second place to RayDean! Wow, i was pretty proud of my little self. Then Brian and i played Doubles PingPong. We beat Callie and Rayson to advance on. But we got beat by my mom and Lane by 2 points! Grrr. So close. RayDean and her husband Jon went on to win the Doubles Tournament and Jon also won the Men's singles tournament. They are good!
Tea Party with Ava! The girls had fun dressing up in their pretty dresses, dancing around, playing with Ava's toys, eating sandwiches, apples, cookies, and drinking pretty pink juice! We had some birthday gifts to give Ava since we missed being her for her birthday in October. She was acting very shy while we sang her Happy Birthday!
Later that night we had a dinner at Great G&G A's house. Cousin Kristin, her hubby Tyler and baby Emma came over before dinner to visit for a bit before they headed out on a date. It was so nice to see Kristin and talk! I miss hanging out with her. While we were in college i remember coming down to Provo and staying with her and hanging out with her and her friends! Dinner: Grandma & Grandpa A., Dad, Jerry, Erin, Ava, Brian, Britni, Dalia, Tesila, Rayson, Callie, & Jami. No group picture because, let's just say tonight was awful! I really don't want a repeat of this night to happen again. But it probably will. Something always seems to blow up when all four of us siblings are together. I wish we could all just get along! Everything seems to go just fine when it is just one on one with my siblings. But get all four of us together and someone always ends up mad, offended, or crying.
I did take some pictures of the little girls eating their dessert! What cute cousins! Ava doesn't like having her picture taken, but i got a sneak picture of her eating her ice cream! I love that her mouth is WIDE open before she even has some ice cream on her spoon. She was ready! I love Tesila's "cheese" face! It reminds me of my little sister Callie when she was little and had the exact same cheese face (HUGE cheese grin with eyes closed tightly shut). It reminds me of Callie every time Tes smiles that way!
We went to Orem today to spend the day with my dad, the girls "Papa" (who they love so much! Dalia talks about him all the time at home and can't wait to go sleep at "Papa's house!") For dinner we went to a new place in Orem called "Pirate Island!" Pirate Island has a cool atmosphere that reminded me of being at Disney or Rain Forest Cafe. Also the waiters and waitresses were dressed like pirates and even spoke pirate talk complete with a pirate accent. There was a pirate ship there that set off cannon noise every once and awhile. Very pirate-esk! We ordered our pizza in a pirate accent! Dalia kept saying she was scared, but loved the "pirate" money for the arcade. Tesila loved wearing the pirate hat!
Pirate Island: Brian, Britni, Dalia, Tes, Papa, Callie, and Jami. Tes & Dalia loved riding on this mini marry-go-round in the arcade.
After dinner Jerry, Erin, & Ava met up with us to play Bowling! Dalia keeps saying that she went "balling." The little girls had fun bowling. Dalia and Ava eventually just wanted to run around. But Tesila LOVED to bowl every time! Sometimes she would get so serious! P.S. Ava does not like kisses. Check out the phot of Dalia giving Ava a Kiss. Ava is disgusted.
Video:Bowling Dance - Dalia liked to dance her little victory dance! and Tes cheers her on!
Video: Tesila bowling - Tesila got pretty good at carrying her ball to the kid ramp and she most always would spread her little arms out wide after she pused the ball down the ramp.
One of my girls favorite things about Grandma's house...
The ELEVATOR! Here we all are in the elevator on the way to Grandma & Grandpa Ho.'s
Grandma has so much fun playing with these little girls! We found Tes sitting all by herself at grandma's vanity investigating stuff. So Grandma came to help. Grandma helped Tes apply blush, lip stick, blue eye shadow, and helped her paint her fingernails and toenails. Doesn't Tes look so beautiful!! What a cute cheese face Tes has! Thank you grandma!
Tes loves to help cook! So of course she was grandma's little cooking helper! Tes helped Grandma make dinner (soup in a pumpkin!) and cookies!!
During the day Brian and i were able to go out on a date. We left the girls with my mom and jami and went for a walk around downtown! It was cold! We toured the Salt Lake City library and tried to go to the observation deck on top, but it was closed because it was icy. We made our way to Cafe Rio of course for lunch! A must have stop while in Utah!
Today we went to church with my mom and Lane in the Joseph Smith Memorial building. After church we walked around Temple Square as a family. We of course saw the Temple. My girls love seeing all the temples here. Tes points and says, "pemple." Dalia loved seeing the HUGE Joseph Smith statue and asked to get her picture taken by him. Dalia then saw a smaller statue of Joseph Smith and a bust of Jesus that she wanted to get her picture with as well. We also visited the Christus staute, the nativity scene that is set up for Christmas, and walked around some of the normal displays. Brian found a Chuukese Book of Mormon!
For dinner we went to G&G C.'s house! In attendance: G&G C., Mom, Lane, Jerry, Erin, Ava, Callie, Rayson, Jami, Brian, Britni, Dalia, and Tesila.
Grandma of course had so much fun playing with the little girls!! We went swimming in G&G's apartment pool. Grandma had these neat window stickers for the girls which Dalia totally LOVED! Dalia and Grandma made a yummy cake! I think they had fun licking the beaters the best.
That night we had a girls night to go see the new Twilight movie "New Moon." Some of us were able to get together before the movie for dinner at Red Robin! Bella,Carrie,Stephanie,Jacob,Meredith,Britni,Erin,Pat,Callie,X,Randi,&Edward
Randi,Carrie,X,Stephani,Pat Erin,Callie,Britni,Carolyn RayDean,Kim,Shalaun (Meredith:taking the picture)
Here we all are at the movie theater waiting for the movie to start (minus Meredith who is taking the picture). What a fun night to all get together. I'm glad that i was able to be there for it, since i'm usually so far away that i can't go.
For the week of Thanksgiving we are spending it in Utah with family. Today we started our drive East!
The girls did really great in the car. Dalia was content just sitting there, looking out the window, playing with her kitty, singing songs to herself, sleeping, or eating snacks. She is a great car rider. Tes is pretty okay herself. But lately she is starting to communicate in screams! She has a scream for every emotion. We heard them a lot on our trip. She basically would scream if some kind of food was not in her mouth. I kept giving her gummy bears and she would ask for one just about every second. Then i realized that she was just swallowing them whole. That made me nervous so i stopped giving her gummy bears. We heard her scream for awhile.
We stopped at a rest stop in Idaho right after we crossed the boarder around 9pm or was it 10pm?! The girls got to run around and get their wiggles out. It was Tesila's first time to Idaho. Dalia liked it when i told her that she was in "mommy's tummy" in idaho and this is where she came out. Dalia is really into babies being in mommy's tummy's lately. She will ask just about anyone. Especially if she see's a wedding picture of them in their wedding dress. "Do you have a baby in your tummy?!"
We left Everett about 12noon PST and arrived in SLC around 3am. Brian drove the entrie way! We hit snow on both the Snoqualmie Pass and the blue mountains. It was worse on the blue's since it was dark and snowing heavier (a little blizzardy). It was really nice to be at mom and lane's place and be out of our car.
Here is a video of Tes on our trip! This Pearl Jam song came on and she started rocking out! I think she was getting prepared to see her Uncle Jerry.
A few days ago Dalia found my Quints Dollhouse in a box (in her room) and kept saying, "i want to play with the house." I kept telling her another time. Well another time came while i was downstairs and Dalia was up playing in her room. Next thing i know Dalia is downstairs telling me she wants to play with the house. I follow her upstairs and she has gotten all the pieces to the house out of the box. So i put it together and her and Tes played with the house and the little wagon with their princesses. Someday i will get out the quints for them to play with it. Notice that Dalia matched her princesses 'swim suits' with the color of wagon that they are in. She is really into matching.
First, Tes is a thrower! She throws things. Especially when she gets mad or when she is done with something. For breakfast i made her a bowl of oatmeal and placed it in front of her to eat. I turned around and heard a scream, a clunking noise, and a "oh no mama" from Dalia. I turned back around to see Tes screaming in her high chair and her nice warm bowl of oatmeal and raisins on the floor and all over the sliding glass door. I guess she didn't want oatmeal for breakfast this morning.
Video: Dalia singing "Bear Necessities"
Video:Dalia and Tes dancing in circles (kinda of like Ring-around-the-Rosie but with other music)
For Christmas this year my family has Callie & Rayson. So i decided to make Callie an apron, hot pad, and potato bag, in Callie's kitchen colors, blue & yellow. I have a pink ruffly apron that i can dance perfectly in and flows out great when i spin. Because i dance when i'm in the kitchen and those things are necessary. Well i love my apron and i cannot start to cook or clean in the kitchen without wearing it. So i love my apron and i wanted to share the apron love with Callie, but have her apron match her kitchen.
So i created a pattern from my apron onto newspaper and cut out the pieces. I had fun piecing it together and making the ruffle at the bottom. As you can see from the pictures Tesila enjoyed helping me out by "sewing" her blanket! I love the way Callie's apron and matching hot pad and potato bag turned out. I hope she loves them!!! (P.S. After Christmas - Callie told me that she wore her apron all day and even fell asleep in her apron. i think that means she loves it! Hooray!!) I love Callie!
When Dalia sits down to draw she usually will ask me to help her, which means she wants me to draw for her. So tonight we sat down together to draw. We grabbed some toys and tried to draw them from looking at them, just with basic shapes and such (airplane, princess, flower). I would draw one thing and see if she would copy what i drew. I ended up helping her draw hers too (so my plan didn't work, but we still had fun, she thought it was pretty cool). Then daddy came to help her draw. Here in the picture they are drawing Mr. Incredible! It turned out quite nice.
Tonight Dalia started singing a song i have never heard before and Tes seemed very interested to and even began doing the hand motions with Dalia. They must have learned it in Nursery. Here is a video of their new song, i call it the Shark Song...
The other day i told the girls to go and get dressed. However, they never actually get dressed on their own. Except today Dalia did get dressed and then Tesila came to me for help getting her jammies off. So i took her jammies off and she hurried upstairs. I shortly followed up the stairs to find Dalia helping Tesila into this light pink dress that was Dalia's size, that was now around Tesila's waist. Tesila had the biggest grin on her little face, she was so very excited. I helped her get her arms in the holes and button it up. Tesila immediately grabbed the ends of the dress and started twirling and dancing around the room. Since then i think she has worn this dress for the past 3 or 4 days. Tes now seeks it out to wear it and of course then dances!
Dalia and Tes also love to dance to the song from 'Sleeping Beauty' - "I know you i walked with you once upon a Dream." They always ask me to sing that song so that they can dance. They dance to pretty much any song, but just love the sleeping beauty song.
Tes has recently loved talking on the phone. She usually likes to talk to daddy or even pretends to talk to daddy. She will say, "hi. dada. bye." with sometimes some other jibber jabber in there. And since she likes to do what Dalia does, Tes especially wants to talk on the phone if Dalia was talking on the phone. In this picture of Tes talking to Aunt Jami, Dalia was talking to aunt jami and got off the phone. Tesila immediately said, "talk." So Tes got a turn. She doesn't say much but she likes to listen (when she is in the right mood).
Bolt & Penny - Today Dalia was Penny from the movie 'Bolt' and her dalmation dog was Bolt. She got all dressed up with her pretty gloves and all and set up Bolt on the couch and asked me to take her picture. I just love her pose, hand out and all.
A Video: Here is a video of the girls dancing to "I know you" from Sleeping Beauty.
Tes, Brian, Dalia (and her dog she named "Bolt") (i love that Dalia's mouth is open too, she is reading(saying) right along with Brian)
Every night before bed Brian reads the girls a story or two. The girls get to pick which story he reads. Most of the time they pick, "Where the Wild things are" or "The Gruffalo." They are definitely some of the girls favorite books. And since they read both books a lot Dalia knows the words in each book quite well. She will even say the words along with Brian or say them before he does. It is so cute to hear her little voice reading the books.
I took a video of her reading part of the Gruffalo book...
I turned off the camera before she said..."Gruffalo," so here it is....
Brian took the day off from work, so i took the opportunity to run some errands without the girls. When i came home i found all three of them in the backyard playing in the leaves!! Brian is such a good dad. He got the girls all bundled up to enjoy such a beautiful fall day and play in the leaves! I joined them when i got home. We had fun taking pictures. Dalia even took some of me and Brian. She got some really good ones. The best Friday the Thirthteen ever!!
We ended our day by getting a babysitter for the girls and going to the temple. Where we ran into quite a few people that we know just by chance, how fun! Now Dalia keeps telling me, "you and daddy go to the temple and i stay with papa" (or lily or whoever she wants to play with at the time).
Tes in apron: Tesila LOVES to help in the kitchen. By help i mean wear her apron, sit on the counter, sneak candy, and watch mommy cook. Lately every time i get ready to make anything in the kitchen Tes grabs her apron and asks me to put it on and then brings me my apron.
Tes & Dalia cuddled up in Dalia's bed: This was taken right before i sing them "Angel Lullaby" before they go to sleep. Dalia is all snuggled up with her "pink" blanket and Tes is all snuggled up with...yes, that is one of "my" T-shirts! She still loves her blanket. But lately she likes to carry one of my shirts around and snuggle it. She even took one with us in the car the other day.
Collin & Dalia: We had playgroup at our house, Dalia and Collin were inseparable. Dalia started to play dress up, she got on her white 'wedding dress.' Collin was playing with a sword. Dalia told me "i marry collin." She went over to him and had him sit down with her to "get married." They are so cute together and such good friends!
Dalia talking on the phone while reading a book: Yes she was really talking on the phone to her "Papa" (my dad her grandpa A). She talked to him for at least 30 mins. or so. I kept asking her if she was done and she would say, "no mama, i not done." She talked and talked, then began to read her papa a book. And yes she really read the book to him, turning every page and pointing to things, "see this, those are the crock-ka-gators." What a sweet girl!
Dalia & Tes on front porch: Tonight while Brain and i were back in the computer room, i was showing him some blogs that i had made that day. After awhile i notice the girls were really quiet and i couldn't tell where they were. I went out into the living room, noticed that the front closet was wide open and began calling for the girls. No answer. I guess i will go upstairs. Before i could go upstairs, the front door opens. It is Daila! ahhh...what is she doing outside?! Where is Tes?! I rush outside and there is Tes running around on the grass in the front yard in the cold dark night! My babies! Bad things: Dalia has learned to open the front door. Good things: She at least put shoes on herself and Tes first.
Back inside they start to play "ponies." Dalia says she is "whistle whistle" and Tes is "slee-berry." Here is a silly video...(Tes lately does whatever Dalia does)
Today i was looking at some old pictures that brought back lots of good memories! I thought i would share some with you. Here me and my dear friend Jamie are pregnant with our 1st babies (soon to be Dalia & Issac!). March 2006
Here we are again just relaxing! Our tummies made great drink holders!! I just love this picture!!! April 2006
And here we are with our babes!! August 2006 Jamie, Issac, Britni, and Dalia! - Rexburg, Idaho
Dalia and Issac so grown up and such good friends! October 2009 - Kent, Washington
I am so glad that Jamie and her family live relativity close to us (1 hour away). We get to see them usually at least once a month, which i love! It is good to have such good friends close by, and i love that our kids and husbands get along too! i love you Jamie!
Okay, so i'm just a little proud of myself. Here i am showing off. I was put in charge of our Young Women in Excellence Dessert table. And since i was too busy with the dessert table by the time i was going to go get pictures of the display tables they were already taking them down. i'm disappointed that i didn't get any pictures of them. Our Theme was "Daughters of a King." My friend Michelle R. is really good at food stuff especially "cakes." So i asked for her help! She made the beautiful cake! and helped me decorate the cupcakes! It was my first fondant experience. It was fun and easy. However, i didn't do the cake just little circles for the cupcakes. Michelle also taught me how to make mini candied apples. Which are so cute! I learned how to make mini cheesecakes! And i made my peanut butter balls that i love. i usually only make them around Christmas time, but it was fun to make them and they are so yummy to eat! Thank you so much Michelle for all your help!
I wanted a way to display all the little treats so i went to the craft store to see what i could come up with that was inexpensive. I came home with stuff to make these little cupcake stands. Brian helped me put them together so that they were 'structurally sound' and so that i could take them apart easily for storage (Thanks Bri). I really love them and am quite proud of my little craftiness.
First to explain Tesila. Yes, those are panties around her knees. Dalia and i were downstairs and Tes went upstairs. After a few minutes i hear a "muffled" scream from Tes. Dalia then said,"Tesi locked in her room." Because lately Tesila has been going in rooms and shutting the doors, which she can't open back up again. Hence, why her scream would be muffled. So we went to go save her. However, we were walking up the stairs to open the bedroom door i noticed it WAS open. Why is Tesi's scream muffled?! As soon as i look into her room I see the back of cute little Tes face down on the ground, crying into the carpet for help. She had put on some of Dalia's panties and had gotten them stuck around her knees. She had put both of her legs in one hole. Poor Tes was so distraught. I couldn't help but laugh. I helped her put the panties on over her diaper and Tes then grabbed another pair of panties and began to put them on, putting both legs in one hole again. She then began walking around. Waddle Waddle Waddle Tes! So funny. Here is a waddling video of Tes...
Next Dalia. Dalia LOVES Tesila's gray kitty! Dalia has even named her - "alagail" (abigail). Dalia is also really interested in pregnant women and having babies in their tummies. So as of late Dalia usually has a baby in her tummy (kitty abigail). Then of course she has her baby (pulls it out of her shirt) and hugs and takes care of her baby (kitty). Dalia also found some of my jewlery from my high school days! She LOVES it! She likes to put lots of it on and say, "my lot of jewl-ry."
Lastly, Dalia and Tes LOVE to dance! Not only do they love to dance. They love to make their babies, dolls, stuffed animals dance. Here is a picture of them each making some of their babies dance. Tesila has Beast (which is her favorite, she LOVES beast) and Ariel (which she calls Belle, every disney princess to her is called Belle). Dalia has Abigail (gray kitty) and little Peter Pan (white bear, she has called that white bear peter pan for as long as i can remember, but since she has been Peter Pan herself lately, she now calls white bear, 'little PeterPan').
Finally her is a video of Tesila! She started dancing while she was eating because she heard music that i had playing. I started video taping and she stopped dancing (of course). But it's still cute!
Today we got a snowman!!! Thanks to Uncle Eric & Aunt Emily!! Eric & Emily hiked Mt. Pilchuck today where there was 2 feet of snow. So they brought us back a snowman. Dalia was so excited!! She stayed outside with Brian for about an hour to be with her snowman! We made him a face with grapes and found some little sticks for his arms.
Other pictures: Dalia makes sad faces a lot. When she is pretending to be "sad" because she wants our attention or wants us to give in to something. Here she is making one of her sad faces, so sad. She does have the best bottom lip sad quiver, she has got that down, i need to get a video of it. Next, we left Dalia on the toilet all by herself. She never called for us to say she was done, so we just assumed she was fine. Finally Brian went to find her and she had taken all the toilet paper off of the roll and put it in the toilet! ahhh... So i told her to give me a sad face and these pucker lips is what she came up with.
Lastly, our Thanksgiving hats!! Dalia and Tes made these hats at playgroup at Turkey and a Pilgrim hat. Tesila really likes hers, i'm not joking. She was just tired when i took her picture. Happy Thanksgiving!
Dalia has started to earn her keep around our house. Today she raked the backyard leaves... Okay so maybe she helped me rake the leaves! But she was very good at jumping in the piles (which she calls pools, "mama make me a pool"). And she even sang to me almost the entire time i was raking. She sang her very own version of "Not in Nottingham" from Robin Hood.
Some Pictures that i LOVE of Dalia!! She loves her little rake! Video: Dalia singing her Not In Nottingham song...
We had our friends Mynoa & Teressa over, we played picnic! I gave the girls a snack, they went in the other room, they found a new snack table! with a bench seat on the fire place. They were so proud of themselves! Tesila likes to talk, sing, and pray into our fireplace "microphone." As i was unloading groceries Tesila loved "driving" the car! Lastly, Dalia's super excited face holding her magazine. We got a toy magazine in the mail and Dalia now carries it EVERYWHERE!! She loves it! What she loves most is this boy toy castle with knights and cadpults, she calls it the "guy castle." and she wants it!! She shows it to me all the time and tells me that she wants it for Christmas and wants me to read it. Which all there is to read is the 4 sentence description of the toy, but she loves to hear it. Here is a video of her being so giddy about her guy castle... Video:
Both of my girls and my husband have special blankets. My girls usually HAVE to have that specific blanket when they go to sleep at night. So i wanted to make sure that these special blankets never get forgotten (i don't know how they will ever forget them, but just in case).
Meet "PINK" - Dalia special blanket! When Dalia was born she got lots of blankets. One made from me, one made from each grandma and one from each of my grandma's, one made from aunt erin, and quite a few store bought ones from friends. Out of all of those special ones that were made for her she loves this little store bought one from Stacey P. (my college roommate). Dalia named it "Pink" after she learned her colors. She has to have pink with her every night when she goes to sleep. I will lay her down to sing her a song and she will start to look around for pink. If pink is not there she will ask, "where is pink?!" Then we have to find pink. Also, pink is fuzzy on one side. Dalia is perticular about having the fuzzy side to her. She always wants pink to be on her arms next to her face all cuddled up.
Meet "BeeBee" - Tesila's special blanket! I made this blanket for Tes when i was still pregnant with her. It was the first blanket she ever used (besides the ones they wrapped her up in at the hospital). This is the blanket i always wrapped her up in or brought with us when she needed a blanket. I think that's how it became her favorite. Sometimes we call it purple, because it is purple and dalia's in pink. But Tesila calls her blanket "beebee" sounds a lot like baby. But when Tes is saying "beebee" and she isn't holding her blanket i can almost be certain that she is wanting her blanket. When she sees it on the floor and i'm holding her she will say, "beebee" and reach for it. When she gets her blanket she grabs it and gives her blanket a big hug and she has the happiest smile on her face. She loves to suck on her two middle fingers on her right hand and cuddle "beebee" close to her face and clutch it in her left hand.
Lastly meet Brian's blanket! Yes, that is his baby blanket! And yes it is a huge baby blanket! It is still bigger than him. I guess his mom just knew that he would still love it as a grown man. He doesn't have to have it every night like the girls do, but he really likes his blanket. When i met him it was his college bedding. I didn't know it was so special until we got married. I once teased him about getting rid of it and he was not happy about that. In the picture you can see a truck on his blanket. He said he had a favorite truck that he always played with and his mom traced the truck on his blanket. I also asked Brian if his blanket had a name, he said no, but i could call it "beige."
I have a baby blanket too. Mine is pink with kitties on it and i believe that my Grandma C made it for me. It is in a box someone, i think in the girls room. It is small and kind of fragile now. I think i took it to college with me too. It never had a name.
